It's for their promo video for a bunch of old cooporate big names to see. (hence the chill-out-ness)
Listen up for funky guitar tracks from six-strings! Tried my best to emulate mute cutting.
New version features an instrument called Hichiriko (not hichiriki) that sounds alot like a soprano sax. Anyhow, I had a performer do the lines. You can check out the newest version here:

Hi
Really nice production, BIG open sound, may be too big....? (Don't take it as a big criticism)Difficult to say without seeing the whole thing together. I have produced a number of pieces for TV and I bet that this lifts the video? That is always the test for me... if the video 'looks' better with the soundtrack playing. What are your clients going to play the audio on? Just wondering as I always check my output on crappy computer speakers in mono... If it sounds good there then it can only get better.
Regards
Kenf

tokyo motorshow is like a big expo for car companies, so the video will probably play on a huge screen, with huge PA speakers
I'm quite eager to see the end video too. I had to write this to a "test edit" kind of clip, with black screens here and there. It was kinda hard to tell what's going on. Anyhow, it should be done within a week so I'll post it when it's done.

Hi Submarine,
You are right it does sound pro... I was just trying to give kensuguro the benefit of my experiences of my soundtrack work. It is easy to kind of 'over cook' trying to impress your client. I have done it and it can distract from the visuals.
Chances are that kensuguro has got it right.

ahh, the "over cook" thing. yeah, I can totally relate to that. This time, they wanted tme to over cook it. Actually, there's nothing but the sound track and some sound effects (to link with bips and bleeps on screen). Well, the video's getting finished as we speak, so hopefully I'll have a link for you guys soon.
Man, this is really close. I mean, the show's on in about 20 hours. And the director's still burning DVDs. thank god the editing is finished.

Aaaaand the video is finished.

It's a low res version for online viewing so the quality is pretty bad.

Perfect sync! Great sound! Get your check ASAP
I really have to say that when the guy steps out of the car to "meet ¦the clients" it shows that the vid is a "montage".

Hello Ken
I downloaded it cos I had some problems listening through the streaming. So I’ve seen it several times to analise it.
The effects used ore truly very nice, the sound too is big and great, the mix in general perspires equilibrium. I’m proud of you Ken.

I can hear the differences from the mixes you did a year ago, and the ones you are doing now, the new ones are better... Well done!
The only thing I am not totally satisfied with, is with the sax (reel) player, is sounds quite unsecured to me.
