A year ago a carload of aboriginal boys pulled up at our place with my old mate Kelton Pell, and his son Stephen Narkle was one of them. He had put together a few rhymes and wanted a backing track to do them live.
So... i did a 4 bar drum loop, a 4 bar guitar loop and played the Stingray 5-string for a big, floppy take.
a few weeks ago Stephen came around again, this time he recorded vocals, but due to the two freeways and the two scsi drives they are a little noisy
It's got some kensuguro mod73 on it (goodonya Ken), and i mucked around with the vocoder a bit.
needs work, and rerecording, but i reckon the fulla is moorditj

I think there's a problem in the filename (slashes)
"1stephen_narkle_&_wayne_freer_'aboriginal'_demo.mp3"
Edit: the back-slashes are just before the apostrophes, but have disappeared in the posting I made (?)
Right click the file link, then choose "save link target as..." (or your browser's variant thereof) and then alter the filename to something permissable.
HTH,
Royston
Edit2: Liked the track a lot, by the way! Good rappin' What did you do to get the stereo effect of the vocals?

that's my rhodes baby!! hehe. Great use of the vocoders by the way. Live bass always turns me on also. hehe. Man, the bass gets funkier the more I listen to it!

plain fantastic... it's complete (to me) excellent bass work, super vocals, great production... although the intro got me worried for a few secs

cheers, kind folks
Royston, the vocalist just did two passes, i panned them a bit, and i think there's a bit of stereo expander on the whole mix.
I'm getting used to this bass track - it is just 4&1/2 minutes of mucking around in a fairly slack way, so originally i thought i may have to tighten it up a bit, but i kind of like how the vocals work with it now.
Rock on regardless

I love it, very nice... Only thing I'm missing is a bit more botton in the bass, cos it sound s little think in here... For the rest very nice. I have alwasy liked how you play bass, you are very sure of the bits... and this is very important for a bassist to keep.
Cool indeed.

Phat and variable bassline. Some very nice vocals. If you can get rid of the noise on the mic, this this track is finished for the masses.
Nice work
