I have a Pulsar I + Elektra, and my PC is an AMD K7 at 900 khz, with 256 of RAM.

Well, my problem is this. When I play the Keyboard using Halion or other VSTI, I can't hear anything, despite I can see as the vsti is receiving midi data. But if I record this, when the recorded midi part it's played, it sounds magically. I don't know what happens.

Thus, I've tried the same with a pulsar synth, and happens exactly the same

I need help please!!!!

wait a sec....

Do you actually mean that, when playing a through SX you can't hear a thing ? But when you record the midi an play it back you can hear sounds ?

And you say that you've tried the same thing with pulsar synth's ?
Then you must mean XTC based pulsar synths ?

If this is the case....then i must say...this is very weird behaviour !!!

What OS and wich version of SFP are you running in your setup. And i would also like to know what sound driver your using. ASIO version ?

(Mabye you've allready solved this)

Check what midi ports you have enabled. Some people have problems with the emulated vs. real ports. You might search the forum for related topics.

First of all, a lot of thx for your help.

I'm using Pulsar 3.1 running under Windows XP Professional. When I spoke about Pulsar Synths in my first post, I want to mean synths but no in XTC mode. The asio version is 2.0, I think.

I have monitorized the output of the midi out 1 when I'm playing in cubase, but nothing appears. If I play a recorded midi part I can see all the midi events.

Greetings

Hi again!

I've try some thinks, but I can't solve this stupid but great problem...

I've installed SFP 3.1 (because I was using Pulsar 3.1). Besides I've installed Cubase 1.06 build 78.

I'm routing in this way:

Pulsar Midi A Source Out ------> In Sequencer Midi Dest 1

Sequencer Midi Source 1 -------> Lightwave Midi in

In cubase I use the first midi channel:

in: Creamware midi in/out 1
out: Creamware midi in/out 2

The problem continues... I can't find any logical explanation for this  :'(

You're problem is there, you wrote :

in: Creamware midi in/out 1
out: Creamware midi in/out 2

It should be :

in: Creamware midi in/out 1
out: Creamware midi in/out 1 <---

This represent the Sequencer source / destination in the sfp routing windows.

Excuse me
I was mistaken when writing, I put 2 instead of a 1.

"out: Creamware midi in/out 2"

instead of

"out: Creamware midi in/out 1"

On the other hand I've installed Sonar 1.1 for probe the same think, and... Sonar works, them I have the problem with cubase sx

This it is the rarest error that I have had

It is a track in setting in Cubase SX, not a SFP problem (as you noticed with Sonar : sonar works). I had this before (i could only hear sound like you say, or if I open the Piano Roll).
In my case it was because the track was muted : it cuts sounds even if Record is enabled.
So check if you have muted or solo tracks.

I hope that is the solution.

Hi, a lot of thx for your help!

But I haven't any channel in solo or muted mode. If I open the piano roll and try to play with the cursor don't sounds anything.

mmm, strange, and disapointing... I do not know (except may be if the Creamware Midi Out is not selected as the midi channel, but I guess you tried that).

I do not know  , but if sonar works, it is probably a cubase sx problem or an option somewhere....

the midi in "creamware midi 1" is probably assigned by default but it must be selected and checked (in the inspector of each midi channel)in order to get it real time r/s.

that was the problem when it happened to me

best luck

Try this,
pull down MIDI channel strip/ SENDS and change field "NOT CONNECTED" to CREAMWARE MIDI 1 or 2 and next field "ANY" will be MIDI channel number. It should be OK now, I have solved that problem like this, when I use XTC synths thru the SFP.

Why dont you check that the MIDI THRU in SX is active? It is somewhere in the Preferences (or is it called Settings?) window, under File.

P.S.
and MIDI source module connected to sequencer dest modul too,

BTW, How are you rodos1979, you are always near me
