I just found out that the sound you hear when the TV is on (that high pitched sound) is 15660hz. I felt an uncontrollable urge to find out, so I recorded the TV with a mic and did a FFT on it to find out the pitch. How bored can I get. LOL

That's interesting. I've often wondered at the varius picthes of the humming machines I'm constantly surrounded by - and whether are at particularly "bad" frequencies....

With the same FFT method they find faulty rotating parts on engines etc. Each part resonates at its own frequency. Measured peak frequencies are then related to specific parts -this is often very fast trouble shooting.
No TV here either, garyb. Firstly I cannot spend my time doing nothing, secondly why pay to see commercials?
[edit: finished a forgotten sentence;]
[edit: replaced the hilarious TFT by more logical FFT]

LOL, the "bad" frequencies tell you to buy stuff you don't need.

Well, guys, if these 15660 or 15661 Hz are ennoying, our ears are healthy in spite of hearing loud music! So don't worry!

actually I don't hear those 15 Khz anymore, or even 14.
That's why I like LoFi...I have to

This factor irritates me so much I can only very rarely go see a movie - I cannot stand to be trapped into seeing more ads when I have already paid to see the movie.

Gimme a break

You know what I mean - whether in the high frequency realm there are also the "anxiety" frequencies etc

TV's 15kHz is emited by high voltage generator - this voltage is required for the 3 electron guns that are bombing the screen to alow us to see the commercials

In England, we get the commercials for free.
You have to pay for the endless repeats of Dad's Army, though :-!

What is disect? I can't find it in my dictionary

actually spelled 'dissect',from latin 'dis',=-"apart" and 'secare',"to cut".
dissect your tv=disassemble it.
