Note to John: you might want to take a look at the links section as there are at least two (maybe more) broken links to other sites there.

Which leads me to this:

One of the broken links is to http://www.dspdev.com

Did this company disappear or are they now under a new name/new site? Earlier this year I bought their Analogy synth.

A few minutes ago I received an email message from webmaster@copieshop.com informing me that I had just placed an order for Analogy. This message is identical to the original message I received from Nicolas back in January when I bought the synth. The latest message even has the same username and registration number for the device. And... it even leads me to the same broken DSPDEV link. Weird huh? I responded back to webmaster@copieshop.com so we'll see what comes of this.

I don't know man. The whole SFP 3rd-party development scene is in bad need of an enema.

OK - I see it now. Apparently their server must have been down yesterday. I did get a one-sentance response from someone at Copieshop named Nikko (could that be Nicolas?) indicating that this problem was the result of a virus or spam/hacking attempt. I have not heard back from anyone at DADEV directly about this yet.

This is strange and a bit scary. Hopefully, it was just an isolated incident and not worth mentioning again. I know there have been a flurry of virus attacks recently. Maybe DADEV got hit. I always thought of these guys as top shelf. Probably just an isolated attack.

Oops - I guess this isn't over yet. Since I now am able to get access to the site, I decided to log on to their service as a member in order to download the latest version of Analogy. When I clicked on the download link, I was immediately wisked away to this website: http://www.funpoint.com

In fact, I also got there by clicking on the contact link at the bottom of one of their pages. Really nice.

"Bend over - this won't hurt a bit!"

Today I received some replies to e-mails I didn't send, either. One from a company I write from time to time and one from a strange place called webmaster'at'dataware.net ('at' is for @) with the following text

info@musik-produktiv.at
info@musik-produktiv.ch

Is it the result of THE worm????

Weird. Someone must have figured out the meaning of the universe because in the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy it states that if anyone ever figures out the meaning of the universe, it will instantly disappear and be replaced with something even more bizarre.

The new website is http://www.dadev.com, the old domain has been stolen.
