sorry for being so negative in my first post, but I can't understand the hype about these plugins. I tested them some days ago and have to say:

Poltec sounds exactly like the creamware-eqs. It looks very, very, very nice, and it sounds very good (as creamware's eqs do) but I doubt that anybody seriously compared it to the 'normal' creamware eqs.

In my opinion this is rather dangerous for the creamware platform, because other users could think that all creamware-devices (pretending to sound like classic gear) including vinco etc. - sound that way. Vinco & Co. are on a much higher quality-level compared to Poltec.

So don't get me wrong: I want to see many users with creamware's cards. I just doubt that this is the best way to convince them.

Everybody who wants should buy Poltec & Co. for sure - they're really not too expensive but I would not buy them before comparing them directly to normal creamware stuff with closed eyes and someone else who makes the settings. Maybe one has to use two eqs for getting the same sounds (The Poltec is higher on DSP, as 'normal' eqs, so I think it uses easy combinations of maybe 2 or 3 eqs for one surface element on Poltec. I don't know. What I know is that it sounds exactly like creamware-eqs.
For sure everybody is free to decide what is worth which amount of money.

Yes, I've heard similar feedback regarding the BX Digital plugin. It seems strange that they would charge so much for the plugin if this were the case though.

Could be a good thing if people do some tastes and comparisons with other eq.
I have compered the polteq with the Timeworks vintage eq, and for my humble opinion I prefer that polteq. It sounds warmer and basses get a sweet sound.
I didn't compared with creamware eq's but I will do next week.

Please, do some comparisons and explain your experiences here.

Thanks for not flaming me for my critical thoughts. Reading the answers I think: "O.K. if you like it better than your actual eqs, you should really really buy it!" It's not my job to convince you about my earing-experiences! I'm 100% convinced a/b comparing Poltec to other creamware devices that in Poltec run some parametric creamware eqs. One should be able to phase-delete them, what could be a bit difficult if they use more than one eq-module. I have better things to do. + who am I to actively attack the buiseness of digitalaudio. I highly respect their design-abilities and creativity! Their devices are well done and the reverb sounds very good.
These devices will visually impress visitors of your studio, which is - as I experienced - a very important thing in producing audio.

Use your ears, Digitalaudiosoft seems to be a very fair company - they never stated that these plugins sound like the "real" devices and they let us use their demos to build our own opinion!

I think these eqs are somehow coloured, overdriven & possibly have response tweeks, which gives them their slightly unique sound. They certainly look very & sound very nice, but so do nearly all Scope devices.

Btw Timo, your 2nd name isn't 'Mass' is it?

well, i would say that :
1) i do really like their reverb that has a very intersting color ; furthermore the dsp usage is not important.... so this device is going to be THE device of this firm.

As for the EQs i have would not say they sound/or not like poltec ( i have not tested) ; thank fo your intersting opinion though. Just waiitng for what the others think about that. I only follow recurrent opinions, as sound remains very subjective...


AND.... brainvox plugin is amazing !!! Too expensive for me (i have used the demo version)but i do love it ; it gives magic to your mixes...

Has anybody tested the sl9000? I tried all the digitalaudiosoft devices but the one. I encountered an error - "a dsp file stereo mix missing" or something similar. I've emailed DAS with no response

I've tested the Bus Compressor. I have to say that apart from its looks, it has very little in common with an SSL Mix Bus compressor. The behaviour is nothing like the a hardware unit, or indeed the Waves and Duende emulations.
