SFP 4.0 Download Is Working
Well, StopScope.DLL (or any other DLL's) are not part of the driver.
The IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EVEN bluescreen is a Windows ACPI bug. It may be possible to create a workaround for the driver's interrupt handler, but I don't know how...
In general, it's Microsoft who has to fix this. But I think that's very hard without breaking compatibility. (I had the same errors quite often back then when i used XP, and I didn't even use a CW card in my computer).

Bingo what Sequencer are you using? Sx used to give me these headaches...
btw on a positive note I think this is the first time I've actually been able to download a Creamware update on the FIRST day at FULL speed in UNDER 20 minutes.
A lot of the newcomers seem to expect that 2000+ connections for a 100+Mb installer be an easy thing for a hardware company to shoulder and finally that's appearing more correct. I haven't bothered to play fun with Reg keys yet so we'll see how that goes (have work to do atm).

Yes, I know that StopScope.dll is not part of the driver, it is just one area where I noticed the SFP is hanging (who knows maybe there's a kernel call in it).On 2004-04-22 15:26, wsippel wrote:

Second, I don't have ACPI enabled in the BIOS and I have a MPS standard HAL selected.

I use Orion Platinum, but it happened also without any sequencer, just my Yamaha keyboard hooked up to Pulsar with Vectron loaded. I don't think its Vectron's fault, I think its the MIDI module because I noticed a lot of people complained about it.On 2004-04-22 15:35, valis wrote:

Ok, if it's in fact a bug in the interrupt handler (I don't think it is, but it is not completely impossible), we will see if our work could help fixing it.
UPDATE
Do you use the PCI slot next to the AGP slot?
I checked again, it's not really an ACPI bug, in fact, the problem should be fixable by _enabling_ ACPI...

No, I think it's the second PCI slot (I think on my mobo the number one PCI slot is on the bottom) refering to the included picture, the second from the left or the fifth one from the AGP slot.On 2004-04-22 16:01, wsippel wrote:

It seems as though Creamware is having a lot of diffuculty being clear in their communications about everything lately. Sorry to be negative, but the situation seems to go from annoying to really bad to just plan making people fed up with it all.On 2004-04-22 15:44, dbmac wrote:
Yeah, same here. I'm trying to get my discount reinstated - I didn't realize it would expire if I left the web site.

I accidentally did this myself - I have a net connection that I can switch between two computers, and after I registered, I had to switch computers, navigated to 'My Page' at Creamware, then noticed it didn't display the information about the shop at the top of the page. I thought that I had messed up my plugin offer. BUT - I re-registered for 4.0 with the same ID number (the one you're emailed), and it accepted it, and once more displayed the message about the shop being in reduced mode. I then proceeded to the shop immediately and bought the B-2003. And it works great. On 2004-04-22 16:55, powerpulsarian wrote:It seems as though Creamware is having a lot of diffuculty being clear in their communications about everything lately. it's working again here... everything is activated now, and e-mails were sent with Scope4 activation codes for all registered boards.
The NEW Scope 4.0 key is named :
"SCOPE Platform "
I Remember you that Scope 4 is *FOR FREE* for everyone , and it is SINCE 1998 ! I can't remember another company doing that in the past ... i am in proaudio field since 20 years... (when Yamaha CBX proaudio system hit the market... and i can't remember another company doing the same things as creamware).

That's the same motherboard I'm running here Bingo. No problems here under WinXP and Logic Audio 5.51. Nuendo worked fine up until 1.5x and then went to hell and will eventually BSOD when I use SFP as my ASIO host. Since SX is based on the same core and even the 2.x updates seem to do it I am curious if you're a Steinberg user.On 2004-04-22 16:34, BingoTheClowno wrote:No, I think it's the second PCI slot (I think on my mobo the number one PCI slot is on the bottom) refering to the included picture, the second from the left or the fifth one from the AGP slot.On 2004-04-22 16:01, wsippel wrote:

For what its worth I tried using my RME as ASIO host in Nuendo (sx) and things seem a lot more stable (still using the Pulsars via ADAT).
TO PROVOLONE :
Perhaps I am stupid, but here everything is working (including wave drivers) ... There are some bugs(maybe there are more than a few), but everything has bugs !! There are A LOT OF workarounds anyway for *most* of Creamware Scope's bugs.
"Provolone" (and all the other crew who is complaining only), we don't need destructive-complaining, but people making music with their great Scope system and trying to help other people working at best with Creamware system (and there are, trust me).
I have an idea in my mind : who is complaining too much about bugs, is doing so few music and has really too few serious to do, daily...
Do you want a list of MS Windows XP bugs ? Or MS Office XP bugs ? You will be surprised how many there are ... but i think most people are using them daily a lot, without complaining so much.
The same with Creamware. There are a lot of producers using Creamware systems and they can "survive" even with their bugs. I don't mean they don't have to be fixed, but i am simply saying : support creamware sending them a list of known bugs, instead of complaining. It's FAR BETTER for everyone.
- I remember you that Protools TDM system is FULL OF BUGS and you pay it more than 50,000 US$ if you want a good system (lots of I/Os, lots of DSP-boards, control surface, etc).
- I remember you that Forums are full of people having problems (you won't find a message saying "it works well. i work with it daily. no problems at all. enjoy"... just to give you an example) : it's *CONSTRUCTIVE* that people help people to solve & workaround bugs. There are VERY HIGH-SKILLED people here, and i am pretty sure that all planetz is a HIGH-VALUABLE resource for ALL Scope users (make a donation for that if you can
).
The world is full of *CRAP* , but also of some great people (usually less than crap people unfortunately
) .
ONE LAST WORD : Complaining doesn't help anyone ! It doesn't help me, it doesn't help you, it doesn't help who is reading, it doesn't help who is complaining himself!
Let's make music and (if you find it), please try to tell me if there is a system as flexible as scope system ... unfortunately there isn't , as you know.
So, again : Thanks Creamware. Let's try to do our best (We as users, and Creamware as a company) to improve even more this system , which is already amazing!!
Thanks for hearing, sorry for this long post and ...
... Good Music to everybody!!

PS: "PROVOLONE" , you have a really nice nickname ...

Have you run any BIOS updates? What BIOS version do you have? Do you have both processors plugged in?
No, I'm not a Steinberg user, I use Orion Platinum as my host.
I'm running Windows 2000, and for some reason, when I installed the OS, it could not detect the ACPI features (not that I need them) but that was one issue I had. And SFP runs perfect except when using an external MIDI sync source, or like if not seriously delayed.
What is your experience with the board, do you know something that might be useful?
