Creamware need to get serious on this topic. Creamware hones
i bit of topic maybe.
if i see things from dxl`s point of view i agree with him. searching the internet for an hour can give you all the state of the art software you want for free, compared to logic/cubase,waves and NI for free creamware is bad value and not worth it.
im not accusing you dxl of using cracked software, but i always read your postings
(they amuse me) and it seems to me you have experince with a lot of software, i recently read that you almost never use halion, if u can afford to buy halion and not use it u got alot of cash so creamware value should not be of any interest to you, you can afford it. youve also said that you prefer the waves plugs, to my knowledge thees are quit expensive, and if you can afford pro stuff like that you probably also can afford more expensive systems than pulsar, that probably will suit you better, if there arent any systems that suits you better then way all this rage against creamware?
my point in this somewhat messy posting is if you think its alright to steal from developers and companies that provide you with the tools you need. Than i dont think you have any right complaining about value, bugs or any delay consurning updates.
if im totally wrong in my assumptions about you and your software, then your welcome to tell me to f##k off(you probably will anyway), and ill give you my humblest apologises, im truly sorry.
if im wrong, then i must say im impressed that by age 18(?) your so sucssesfull you can aford all that stuff you talk about.

keep posting

it all funny.all the posturing and self importance.funny, funny, funny!
fun.
he has a cool picture too!
p.s. as with all products, pulsar is supposed to make money.aside from what those self appointed anarchists(really overgrown children, consumers to the max) get for their money (free, as they stole someone elses work and gave nothing in return) cw cards are really cheap.(try buying hardware)
and i know this is old, boring stuff.i just like saying it!(hey, someone add some periods for the new purchasers to see!!)

i didn't insult anyone in the first place but critics to cw.
go back to Creamware's forum data base (if it exist) and go to some earlity post in planetz. i do insult some creamware fighter, yet i never come out and start saying, "F#$@$ XXX is such a jakass, knownothing."
you like bad sampoo? like what? burn ur skin if u expose for more than halfhour? you like bad creamware card, woe, why you like something you admite it's bad? or you simple like the opposite way? sorry, i aint the one starts this picky way in this fourm. but maybe you really like the alternative, who knows.

Well, funnily enough, here's a copy of the new advertisement for v3.1 I've just seen:
'I used this product for two weeks, and all my hair miraculously grew back!' - Fabien Barthez
'I couldn't believe it, Pulsar really does help you to lose weight! I found just using the Modular alone, helped me to lose 12 pounds !' - Kate Winslett
'It's true, Pulsar really does improve your memory and intellect' - Stephen Hawking
'Yes, Pulsar refreshes the parts other soundcards can't reach' - Igloo Igloony (Carlsberg President)
'I can play and compose like Herbie Hancock now' - Pulsar user dxl
'I found using it improved my voice' - Posh Spice (OK, I made this one up - Robert).

It's always the same problem ain't it... dxl posts a critique towards cw, people find logical answers to defend, dxl attacks at a personal level, and then people start attacking at personal level.
Oh.. when will we grow out of this.
Anyway, to stay on topic... concerning dxl's idea about publishing clear examples about polyphony and etc, yes, they probably should. But since we're talking programable DSPs, like nord mod, none of these numbers really mean anything.. all that matters is the total power of the DSP, which really can't be measured in any way (saying "you can load 40 sin osc modules" won't help). I don't think nord mod had any definite numbers, or I don't think I even looked at them. Poeple are attracted to the concept of a programable DSP, not the polyphony. UAD is on a different line. Different level of flexibility. That's why I don't really find it too appealing. It's the concept, not the numbers.
Actually, instead of polyphony numbers, CW could present a flowchart of a typical Pulsar platform workflow like:
1. set up pulsar project with just synths
2. play hardware keyboard and rec to sequencer
3. rec all tracks to audio tracks
4. set up pulsar mixing project
5. mix track
6. bounce to two mix
7. set up mastering project
8. bounce to final mix
That might give a better idea. But I do find myself in rage at times when corporates try to hide or make info unclear. They do that a lot, and I guess it's natural to feel against such efforts.
Personally, I was pretty upset when nord mod and pulsar had their limits... fiarly low I guess. But still, they remain as the most innovative instruments that I've ever owned. Again, it's the concept that appeals. That part, I think CW has advertised well. They know their strong point.

Regarding the price of the Pulsar. It's not just a soundcard it is much more than that. If you compare it to the price of a really good synthesizer, I think you will find it is about half of that, also the Luna is very affordable $250.00 USD where I live so if The Pulsar is too much you could start with that. I expect when the Scope Fusion platform comes out we are going to have a lot more Luna, Elektra and Power Sampler users in this group.
not go for pulsar you can see and know what creamware wana sell
Luna, what . joke effects no insturments
3powerless DSP.
well use as a mixing board you need to get a ADATexpension and you need to get a convetor yourself or a Luna2496 which still expensive compare to other cards. (at lease 700UAD)
you can do some EQing and or some compression and delay, other effects will eatup you DSP fairly quick.

Actually, Creamware DOES link to planetz (it's the first link on their "Free plugins and more" page). And since I have a bunch of tables of dsp usage for the various devices (just like the Korg pages), it's not like CW is hiding anything, or trying to get people to NOT visit planetz for fear of them discovering the actual dsp usage of the devices! For a purchase like this I think you should do at least some research yourself and if you post a question about CW products on any audio-related internet forum, there's almost always someone who will redirect you to planetZ. Yes it would be better if CW had a big link on their site but I don't think they are in any way dishonest by not having it.

I've apologized before that those charts are out-dated, but they take a huge amount of time to make, and they're still basically ball-park accurate, so I've left them up there for just the kind of pre-purchase research that dxl is talking about...
A final note, I remember the day I published this website, and getting really appreciative emails from Frank Hund, and many other Creamware people, saying how delighted they were that I had gone to the effort of making this website, and making all those DSP usage tables, etc. Perhaps, I'm partly to blame that CW has never compiled their own DSP usage tables, as they could always save the effort and just point anyone that inquires over to my site -- I really SHOULD update those, huh!

Peace,
-John
