I think we have 5 more years left. If they don't come up with something that more musicians can afford, there might not be another product. I can not believe that they didn't learn from fiasco that was Creamware. Even RME has a card for $549. Cubase synthesizers are way outpacing Scope.
Recently I found that when you bypass the Scope mixer, it sounds much better. For instance, I plugged the Minimax directly into the s/pdif out module with no mixer and it sounded much more clear. I asked SC about this and they said they didn't notice this but that all software mixers color the sound. I asked SC to try my experiment but did not hear back from them. They don't want to know the truth about it. The Cubase mixer is transparent.

krizrox wrote:Hey thanks for your suggestions! I will take a look at some of those products you recommend.
Some of the posts on this thread don't make any sense to me at all. Might be a language/translation issue. Appears to be some angst flowing over from other forum topic areas. My questions weren't meant to start a heated debate. Truth be told my experience and technical expertise die off quickly when it comes to anything MIDI based - or synth VSTi based. I really don't deal in those areas very often. I'm not stupid on the subject, but I dabble in that stuff so infrequently I tend to forget what I've learned pretty easily. Most of my clients are local rock bands, or blues, jazz, folk, pop, voice-over etc. Nothing involving MIDI sequencing. In fact, most of my clients wouldn't know what MIDI was if it hit them over the head. I'm only using the mixing and effects side of Scope. I can't remember the last time I pulled up one of the synths and did anything meaningful with it. I have a couple of keyboards here but my clients use them just to play simpler piano/synth parts - I've never recorded a single second of MIDI with them. Just run the analog outs through my Mackie and into my A16. So I'm really a bottom feeder when it comes to the more technical aspects of Scope lol
Still Scope is the hub of my studio. Couldn't do what I do without it. No one will be sadder than me when my Scope PCI cards and A16 cease to work and I have to upgrade. But the Xite and Ferrfish products are on the horizon for me. Anyway - cheers and have a great holiday everyone! Thanks for your help!
Ferrofish is better on Google I think.
than Ferrfish , and they live on their sales.
So its not a crime to ask them,
Also we are now going to buy the Scope related Solaris .
We will never use any Cubase crap Synth.
We are waiting for a NI Ragtime Piano Sound though,
but we will do that better with some other party here,
soon.
We really know how to prepare the Hammers on the real piano,
to do that.
Its clearly we have now something working on the larger setup with RME MADI here.
Its not anymore on High School Level with 128 channels involved here.

Please stop trying to spread this lie. You are the only one that says this - you have been told here many times. I even tested it with Minimax direct be fair to you and to make sure I wasn't cheating myself with some placebo effect, only to find that the mixer is transparent. You also tried to pedal this shit on Gearslutz.
From your last few posts I thought you were trying to actually get on board as a positive member of this forum, but now I see you're pedalling the same old inaccurate shit. We have enough of that from muppetboy.

Ok I will talk to our lawyer about this.
We will take it up with our Swedish Government also here.

@Arkin
I tested it again and the problem seems to have gone away. Either it is the new SC platform or my new computer which has changed things. My apologies. I am not a liar! I know what I heard. You should not have said that. Not sure why it is fixed but I am just glad. I also have had many PCI related problems with these cards from day one which are gone with my new computer so I am very happy about that. I may even fire up the A16 again.

Hmmmm... but it's OK to call S|C liars when they say they don't hear the problem? All righty then.
Well at least you're man enough to come clean now that you've discovered there's no difference.

Well heres my findings.
1) the color GREEN represents a note in a modular patch going through an STM dumped into the project with no tweaking,
2) the RED represents the output direct from Modular.
The STM channel is set to 0 db.

So what does this output mean ?

Maybe because when you email them they forward it to guys using XITE-1s or Type II Cards where the latest STM Series are included. So they can't possibly give you an assesment on ancient Mixers and dusty, spider web covered Type I Cards.
