I am glad and thankful.
There are friendly words and serious understanding.
Still mindbogglingly OT.
Actually it looked like this turns into a nitpicking about the glory of self-moderation on Z including a glorious demonstration of its efficiency and splendid posing of the contestants.
Mr JV although the first to step in was also the first to step out - with self-righteousness. Streetwise, still OT and not authentic....IMHO.
My turn now with apologies.
I take a low bow before those among you that were not patronizing but thinking twice.
Another profound one before the ones that saw the naffness and did not just proceed.
And my apologies to the gentlemen on Z that might talk less but - as i see now - are present and occasionally shine through the clutter and the trivia and the runs.
I learn in this inapprehensible elegant way that Z as a community with self-moderation engaged prefers and encourages these traits for the sake of a kind of humor.
I admit certainly that I am built wrong for these Z habits. And it is as you tried to convince me, this is entirely my fault, apologies.
So I follow next to nothing's advice and take a back seat as an exotic visitor that savvies Z as a source of an on purpose cluttered 'information'
hwyl noor
BTW garyb my name's etymology is in the net, nothing special at all, but you were asking wholeheartedly.

lugnoor,
Please don't take a back seat. We are getting the hang of your humor, too.
Honestly, I think your initial inquiry into XITE would have resulted in the answers you seek, if more than about 3 people on PlanetZ owned one. As a whole, we just don't have the expertise that would allow us to help you, especially in regards to XTC. We will eventually, if not for XTC, certainly for XITE. You'll just have to bear with us, or provide it yourself if you obtain one. Seeing a door open, we harmlessly-intentioned ruffians crowded in. And as a note, some of those ruffians are professional musicians, who will gladly share their knowledge, when they have it to share.
Can you help me with the etymology of 'Noor'? I can only find a reference to the Arabic name, which doesn't seem to translate, or to a soap opera or similar serial (Gumus). 'Hwyl' I can follow. I ask because I am genuinely interested, as my skill with words exceeds my skill with music, despite my passion for it and the Scope tools.
Also, I am sorry for silently wondering if you are in fact a bot, or other cyber-entity! OR ARE YOU? ~8^)
Cheers,
Cory

Hi Cory,
my mistake was to ask here about Xite.
I was blinded by the sheer amount of posts about it.
You are right, only a few owned a Xite and they did not use the host integration called XTC.
So I did what has been the advice. I asked SonicCore and received a meaningful, straight and quick answer.
Of course it lacked of the clutter and the humor that is so enjoyable here.
I am glad you are a friend of a variety in terms of humor and share the amusement.
And yes it has an arabic parentage. Nothing special as I said. It was a favor to garyb, who was so interested in this.
A bot ? You mean a automatic machine. I dont understand that. Again my fault very likely.

Believe it or not since I just downgraded Cubase to a working revision. Cubase 4.0, I have had a blast using it.
I have always loved it's fast MIDI drum track GUI and multiple undo's, so I am definately interested in XTC or whatever they decide to call it in the final release.
Actually there's quite a few users of XITE-1 and I wish they would join the forum, but they are on a much higher level than us.
But still several guys are starting to recieve it and that means the release of the newest revision of Scope 5.0/XITE-1 is close.
So I will be seeking advice and if I learn anything will be happy to share.
At the end of the day we are all here to share and learn......

Indeed learning in and about z is what is so enjoyable.
Especially the fact that the frequency and number of posts do not go with the quality of the content.
This brings me back to Plato. garyb, your OT now.

i just don't like that he wrote the textbook for mind controlling the masses(plato), since i'm part of the mass. i'm happy for France and the French to live long.
i'm glad that you're well lugnoor. Middle East is cool, too(even if you won't explain hwyl noor or lugnoor to my ignorant self)...

Someone who rules out Plato cannot be so ignorant as far as i can see. That must be Z humor again. Busted.
I said all that is to say about the etymology garyb.
Or do you suspect a conspiracy or a wound ?

nah, i don't like Plato, sorry.
as to the etymology, cool, whatever, just asking. i'm not as adversarial as you suspect...but if nuclear war is what's required, i guess M.A.D. can still work.
yes, i'm mostly ignorant, like everyone else.
