Thanks valis and ReD_MuZe for the replies !

I'am glad the new and old filters have new implementations because to be frank I didn't get any " WOW " at all and was more impressed by the formantors.

if you were impressed bt the formantors, then you probably like sharp sounding filters, and not fat dripping ones, and thats great becose flexor2 is filled with new topologies of very sharp sounding filters, with alot of charecter!

the flexor1 filters are all ladder - style filters. and in flexor 2 there are many other topologies with a totaly different sound.

flexor is all about expanding your modular creativity, and so flexor2 will do just that, and even more than flexor1.

peace!

so RED,

I got a question:

is Flexor v2 the replacement for Flexor v1
or is it an additional package.....
So if anyone buys Flexor v2, will this include all Flexor1 modules....
On the Adern page I can see that Flexor I has 70 modules and Flexor II has about 150, does that mean we will have 230 modules absolut ?

what about some mp3 sounds? :D :D
I`m really very interested about what it sounds like...

All this stuff will be great, I have to say that even the Flexor I distortion and waveshaping modules are greát stuff, especially with modulating the amount, but I`m sure the Flexor II will top it.
:)

I recently run an 303 sound through though an Hard pulse modulation module and the result is very interesting.... like distortion without destruction :)

Great looking forward for the biggest studio addition...

I hope I find a slightly unstable oscillator in Flexor 2, so that we can create more vivid sounds. A single oscillator often sounds to static in digital world. (I`ve seen there is a detuning filter in the list, sounds good!)

and finally make sure you get early in contact with creamware to get this thing into the shop. If its ready to release and passed beta stage, I´m sure nobody wants to wait another 2 month to get it available into the shop...

best regards....

the information on the site is 3 years old, where flexor 2 was half the size and was intended for sale as a complete package.

since then flexor2 has become an independent package and has grown inside.

flexor1.5 has 93 modules
flexor 2 will have more. there isnt a final number yet....

peace!
Assaf

I'am glad to hear about the new filters design / options and possibilities ( with increased resonnance ) I like both sharp and fat filters ! and also spoilt by my Doepfer filters

I can feel the massive fun coming ! :D

no offence
but to my taste deopfer filters are very low quality.
(they over saturate, and sound rather harsh)

besides you have to remember that analog has more headroom than digital, so filters can resonate without clipping (well deopfer is not the case :P)

but i was brought up on a moog modular a juno 106 and an arp odysey...
so i might be picky

Very interesting !!

I can't say I've actually heard every single doepfer filter module in action, but they can't possibly all be bad. infact I've read that some of the filters are very very good. Mr Dopfer's been designing modular synth circuits for a long time (over 20 years afaik). His modular system's been on sale & doing really well for over 10 years, now having 1000's of very happy users. Many of those users will actually have other modular systems to compare their A-100 to & they don't seem to be screaming that it sounds crap. Of course users of Buchla, MOTM, serge or modcan systems or whatever normally seem to turn their noses up at the A-100 saying it's inferior in all ways, but I wonder just how much of that is down to pure snobbery & the fact that they paid an absolute fortune for their systems in comparison to an A-100 user.

ReD, I really wonder on what kind of A-100 system you heard the filters :-?

My system is some months old so maybe ...

BUT I wouldn't say it's top notch, only in the very nice range

And it's not about money being spent because I bought some expensive Plan B model 15 oscillator which is praised and I consider it *very weak* + poor workmanship

to be honest im not fond of the modular analog synthesizers produced now...
its a matter of taste ofcourse, but the quality of the moog filter in the system55 is my reference for good filter sound.

i heard deopfer in messe and played with all of its modules for several hours. and since it was in messe i could compare it to moog, analog systems, motm, and many others. at that year the sun synth realy captured me. and nothing could compare to the polymoog on display there!!!

the only thing that i realy liked from deopfer was the trautonium filter wich sounds totaly awsome!

Doh !! the trautonium is one of the 2 filters I don't have !
Seems I have to correct this since I have the correct rack space ...

I must say it really takes time to appreciate a given filter and I'am far from being done but injecting various Scope sources into is pure bliss !

Beware, you're under the Moog spell ! :D

The only filter sound that gave the Moog 55 a run 4 it's money back in the day was T. Oberheim's SEM's. I never had the priveledge to play the Buchla, or Serge that were available, but Gibson re- released the Oberheim OBX-m after Don Buchla re- designed it for them, and it sounded weak compared to the old Oberheim / Moog filters. Right now I just love the Studio Electronics versions of the Oberheim, and the Moog filter. It comes with both. I am searching for the Studio Electronics Omega 8-voice on ebay for 5 years now and haven't seen one !! So that fact alone speaks of it's design, and they are the only company that still designs and makes analog synths that aren't modular in design. When I use these synths with Solaris, and ProWave as my polyphonic choices, and Modular mixed w/ the analog mono beast, they are scary !! The new beta stereo Barbetta Subs are to die for also. I am doing my best to bring analog synth sounds to new crop of dance junkies, and they all seem to love it. Hell I even turned my son ( 11 years old ) into a synth junkie !!

Red - was it a polymoog or a memorymoog on display at messe? The polymoog sounded pretty weak (used divide-down osc technique) although I guess it still had a proper moog filter?

scope4live - I'm with you on the OB filter... I have an OB-8 and xpander on loan at work, they're extremely nice (the OB-8 being my favourite - even though it's slightly broken it sounds totally huge). I'm actually going to sell my SE1 to get an OB8 or OBXA. The SE1 is pretty nice but it's still being made so I can always buy another one when I have the cash.

Brotha' Man Darkrezin,
Glad to hear from you hear, your absence has been too long. Yeah the Oberheims are seriously FAT. The OB8 w/ MIDI is way cool. The OBX-a is also awesome. I always loved opening the top and detuning the voice cards. I wished that the detunings could have been saved as a preset, but you couldn't have everything back then.
I have a friend w/ an OB8 maxxed out. He was trying to sell it but nobody wanted it. He had it on ebay 4 800 USD w/ an Anvil case. PM me if you want me to inquire about it's status.
I have prayed 4 an Oberheim emulation in VST for a while. I did hear one last year, but once again an inexperienced VST programmer going after a quick ( and unsucsessful ) buck. It sounded like a paper tiger growling instead of a FAT BASTARD.

Jimmy - your friend's OB-8 is very tempting but the cost of shipping/import duty to the UK scares me a little. I guess a UK model would be nicer for me to avoid mains transformers. Of course the going rate is usually around double here. I guess ultimately I would prefer an OBXA anyways, damn it's gonna be hard to find though :(

Have you checked out Analogics? He had all of my OBX / XPander replacement parts on hand, i.e. the Curtis chipsets, and seperate output upgrades, and all CV / MIDI shit. The guy is an Oberheim / Moog crusader to say the least.
You made me go and turn on all of the old beasts today, and like great hunting dogs, that sat right up awaiting their commands. God damn they sound good, but I have been lost in my new keyboard set up, and trying to learn GVI as well. So I am fucked 4 a while, but when I become overworked w/ reading manuals and twisting virtual knobs, the Oberheims make me snap out of it rather quickly.
I need to put boot to ass @ my crib so I can have more room 4 a small but lethal project studio.
