Global Warming
BTW, who do you think might be in possesion of Russia's lost suitcase Nukes?? They had 90-100 of them during the Cold War. When that came to an end & they took stock more than half (60-70% I think) had been STOLEN or had DISSAPEARED.
Wouldn't surprise me one little bit if Iran had a dozen of them. Rather confident of them to get the chalk out & start drawing lines under Isreal & the American's noses. Iran warned of a "crushing" response if their nuclear and military facilities were attacked by the US or Israel.
Blair already has Britain up to our Eyeballs in murderous lies & now he's allied with the US on the Iranian atomic issue .... dollars dollars dollars.
The rest of the world will not stand by & watch another Iraq happen in Iran ... no chance.

Gary, I can't see the US breaking the Kyoto treaty to drill for oil if there's still plenty. It could have been a distraction away from something else they were trying to cover up, but what? Murdering & Stealing oil in the Middle East? ... Now that would just about befit Bush's dark & sickening stupidity.

look man, if you really want to, you can find the proof of what i'm saying. if you don't want to look it's ok. these guys will do their thing and what else is new?
there are a number of internal memos that have been leaked, as well as wells that are ducumented to have refilled. oil is a product of the earth. it is very commonly made in the lab, the same way that it's made in the earth and it's been manufactured for a long time. again, i point to nazi germany in ww2. synthetic petroleum fueled(literally) the german war effort. people like prescott bush(g.w.'s grandfather) help fund the research and owned some of the companies involved.....

I wasn't saying you're wrong Gary, just working through some thoughts. You might actually have uncovered a possible truth for us. Maybe the cover up is as you say & the real point IS actually just to murder portions of population and start WW3 in the world's most unstable region. The plan would no doubt be to provoke the Middle East into blowing itself up... damn stupid when half your own Military force is sitting in the middle tho.
...Hey, my front doorbell just rang. Maybe they've come to silence me

Refilled , maybe.
But it sounds to me like a cornucopia propaganda.

Ok, so based on some excellent info in Casper's links there, lets look at this way.... How on earth did oil just all of sudden become self replenishing at rates that it will not run out at the rate we're using it (at least for a long time ???
When exactly did mankind start drilling for & using oil? How much oil do you think the planet currently consumes yearly? Do you think oil can be replenished by the earth at the same rate we use it??? .. Not a chance guv

If 'strong' abiotic theory were correct, i'll quote "we'd be swimming in it".
Think about it. The only thing bursting consistantly over the milleniums from our planet worth a mention is molten lava. If abiotic theory were correct there would be oil volcanoes thousands of years old which would still regularly flood us with oil to aleviate pressure.

And ofcourse the possible connection to Global Warming

Global temperature is + 0.5 Degrees.
Water is rising , storms , horrorcanes , abnormal snow fall in abnormal places,
Sea level rising.
There are those who say :
"
Oil and gas will run out too fast for doomsday global warming scenarios to materialise, according to a controversial analysis presented this week at the University of Uppsala in Sweden. The authors warn that all the fuel will be burnt before there is enough carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to realise predictions of melting ice caps and searing temperatures.
Defending their predictions, scientists from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change say they considered a range of estimates of oil and gas reserves, and point out that coal-burning could easily make up the shortfall. But all agree that burning coal would be even worse for the planet.
"
And I think there is a natural slow periodic cooldown-warmup without mankind too. So basicly global warming is not our main concern.

Blowing(nukeing) eachother up is what is mine.

The Chinese have a solar power system which they use to serve 35 million homes with power.
At least they've got the brain power to realise the important things to be doing in the now IE. spending their time, money & human resources on future proofing themselves. That's precisely why they are & forseeably will be, the world's leaders alongside India & Japan. It's common sense & just a pure matter of simple maths.
So there you have it. Global warming isn't a problem if you've had the foresight to go solar powered. Oil & gas running out won't be such an issue if you've had the foresight to go solar.
It's high time our world leaders stop spending everyone's money on as many weapons (re: amassing REDICULOUSLY HUGE military forces) & start building mass produced low cost solar systems that most homes could afford. The world's been on an exponential curve of advanced technological developement for over a century & yet a solar power system capable of powering your whole home will still set you back 20-30 thousand Euro. What a joke. We live in one awful state of affairs where most of our world leaders are too stupid to prioritise survival.

that's a stupid implementation. I have solar power in my home. centralized power is a bad idea. all buildings having solar cells connected to a grid makes a lot more sense....
so sorry. diamonds can be found on the ground in africa, but to pick them up to sell them or to try to take them out of the country equals smuggling and the death penalty. those that run the monopoly are willing to send us all to hell for their profits. the earth IS swimming in oil.

Well thank you for pointing that out to us,On 2006-01-12 10:49, Shroomz wrote:
The Dutch are mostly to blame for Diamond monopoly & robbing & luting africa for decades (although many countries & global corporations have played their part), meanwhile I think you're confusing oil with salt water, which we *are* swimming in.
to me as a Dutch citizen.
But your talking about a time we the Dutch transported that stuff in huge sailing ships.
And all other resources (coper, gold and many more). Don't forget to mention the British seized the Cape of Good Hope area in 1806 (same time span we were getting busy)
But back to the "we can swin in oil part".
The first thing that stikes me , is that most studies about this subject, are either corporate of political of nature. Due to sources these studies use. Most(not all) have sources that are logicaly in favour of the oil business.
Gary , you obviously feel more for the abiotic stories. Do tell us more about it if you will. I've looked into it ,but isn't even the abiotic process much to slow to meat demand at a certain point?

I just want to mention: we have 54°F (12°C) today in Chicago
The record was 62°F (16°C) in 198~.
It's freaking December and my biological clock is raging.
