Well, tell me if I'm wrong here, but Sonic Core had an XITE-1 product that they originally took to Messe, then after lots of interest & LOTS of suggestions on how to improve the product, they wisely decided to listen to suggestions & have implemented most of what was suggested here on PlanetZ. That's at least partly the reason for such a delay. For all those waiting for Scope 5 for the current PCI cards, it's no secret that it's planned to be released at the same time as XITE-1. It's written in plain German & English on the SC website.

Yes Mark I am able to read. what's with the attitude? The update was originally said to be out a LONG time ago. That is all. I would not be surprised at all if in the end the update comes out two years late. That is a pretty long time no matter what there reasoning is. There could have been a release, then offer updates frequently. At least that way people would have a product to offer feedback and bug reports on.

Attitude?

If you can read, then you'll be able to read what it says on the SC website. :D

Not yelling, just putting the important information in a very noticeable font size. Yelling is excessive use of CAPITAL LETTERS. :D

I think it's called selective listening, but it's all good Greg. :D
I consider it strategic listening, but at least they considered everything.

My gut tells me it won't take much longer than, say 2 maybe 3 weeks from now. It's just a feeling.
Personally I'm more curious about Scope 5 than XITE, which IS a great product, but it's out of my reach for this moment, money wise.
Besides that I never maxed out my humble 18 dsp's yet, and I really don't mind bouncing DSP heavy tracks if I have to, but that's only me. Maybe I'll look for a 2nd hand XITE in 2, 3 or 4 years when I really might need it ;)
I hope that scope 5 will be at least as DSP efficient as scope 4(.5) is. Hopefully some possible enhancements and new features won't "slow down" the system when compared with scope 4.5 with the same amount of DSP's.
But I have all the faith that it will be great. :)

I know, it's not cool for us to wait this long after their initial announcement, BUT I'd rather have them make the platform work flawless and therefore let them take their time they need, than releasing an unfinished, non-optimized platform in favour of some unpatient people, which make us all complain about it's flaws afterwards.
Besides that, scope 4.5 isn't that bad to work with in the meanwhile, is it? ;)

Seriously, I agree with you.
But a little joking isn't bad too: It's just for killing time (a lot of time, in fact)

SCOPE v5 has differences from 4,5, or there only new driver for Vista ?
For those who waits XITE - all is clear - they have the PRODUCTIVITY and UNIVERSALITY! :)

But what we have ? - those who remains with old SCOPE
- stable work of XTC mode?
- universal driver for work with a few systems?
- integration with VST ?
- ............. :(
- .......

I watch after all information whole year, but so nothing and did not UNDERSTAND!
In addition that something will happen soon ... :D
will happen that?

Prompt me who knows please?
I need to tell on our forum - all are set the same questions ... :)

Scope 5 is especially about new dsp/scripts (and so devices) for Eqs, Compresion, Reverb (and 5.1 reverb I think).
Also new vista 32 bits drivers, and new interface look , and pretty similar to the current way of work.
I talked with Ralf Dressel about future features but I don't know if it is only for xite or for PCI cards or if it is for the future or for immediate release (i mean, xite has new dsp architecture, so it may requires a remake of a lot of things in all devices, so i was interested in that personally - and those future feature would require a remake of most devices, so it is likely that it is for the future, but i can't be sure).

Was there any talk of what products they'll be making for the xtdm buss?

Specifically anything about extra ADAT i/o?

Xcite is useless to me without having more i/o

Cheers

bc, it's got 16 on adat & 16 on z-link + stereo AES/EBU & stereo analogue. I'm interested in what the xtdm buss is as well though obviously.
