Thunderbolt replaced expresscard34 even in almost any Lenovo workstation laptops.MCMASTER STUDIO wrote: Fri Jun 10, 2022 1:26 am Maybe, someone know a latest powerfull laptop model with expresscard 34 reader?
You HAVE to look for older models, used or refurbished.
Here´s one which should work, Intel i7 quad 2.8GHz stock speed, 6MB cache and pciexpresscard34 slot ...

It doesn't really matter if your connection is Thunderbolt 2 or 4. It is both (theoretically) fast enough to work. Only the main problem is the chipset's in between which can cause problems. I've tried the most expensive thundebolt4 eGPU enclosure, and the old Thunderbolt Sonnet express card expansion (for laptop expansion cards), and they both give the exact same result. So it depends more on your device than the outside connection.
Result, it is working, can fully load DSPs, can input many channels from PC to Xite, but cannot bring many channels out of the Xite (1x stereo stable, 2x stereo sometimes stable depending on other connected devices) to the laptop.
Hope it helps!
