I'm keeping my Pulsar II card...just pinned on the hopes, we will have 32 MIDI channels (between the two platforms...but the whole "trade in offer" leads me to believe this gen 1 hardware, might be phased out soon....I don't know...but I heard of software that can map other midi inputs into Scope....any input would be great...but for now...the Pulsar II stays put for now (even though I own the XITE-1)

Again, I wondered if there is an upgrade version from Modular III > IV. 198 Eur is a lot for 97 modules when you can get 250 modules with Adern Flexor for 225 Eur and the upgrade is only 99. Perhaps 99 Eur is a fair price to upgrade.

BTW how many modules now:

Modular III 230 Modules
Modular IV + 97 Modules
Flexor III 250 Modules

That's 577 modules :

How many Space F modules / CWModular / John Bowen stuff / Shmooz?

There must be around 1000 modules. Has anyone done a count?

It's just mean that they are doing that without a Mac version on offer. They better hurry up because Scope is not the unique product it once was anymore.

I agree...too many modules to count...by question to S|C was...What about those of us that bought the XITE-1 with the RC release...is there NO price consideration at all? I'm still waiting to hear back from Ralf to see...IMHO, the individuals, that made the investment, even with an unfinished version, reporting bugs, running into crashes loading modular patches, on Mod II & III, should be given some consideration...but all of this is premature....I have not heard back from S|C....all in all, I would not surrender this platform for anything! These guys are the shit in my book!

 really?!! if it's not unique, please list the many similar products. please don't include UAD's or TC's cards as they are NOT even close to the same thing, nor in the same class.

THERE ARE NO SIMILAR PRODUCTS! I agree (obviously with the G man).
Just from a pure processing power....NOTHING comes close!
OH sure, you can buy a Lexicon 960L for $15,000 US...what do you get.....uuuuuuhhhhh.....reverb, delay, some other FX...and what else.....uuuuuuuhhhhh...that's right....NOTHING!.....and have no synths, mixers, FX, Modular system from hell...Sorry for the attitude...I'm very proud to have this platform at my disposal....especially after today's announcement. Patience....it will all come in time...and as far as the longevity of the platform....10 years on the Pulsar platform is nothing but remarkable in my book...and still have the faculties and balls develop a totally new platform (which will be studied for years) at such a price?
Either pony up for the real thing...or just be left with what you have and be happy with the results.....
cordially yours...

NONE of the other DSP-based devices on the market (that I know of) have ALL the features you get with Xite/Scope.
Either no synths, or no routing, or just plugs, or just a mixing scheme, but not everything.

Classic mistake is to glop all this into one group.

Same goes for that lame CPU/DSP-based argument out there - cost factor of new i7's with lots of RAM, and you STILL don't get everything that Scope has.

Just wait until someone develops an Eventide project for Xite, or a Lexicon project that rivals the others for the cost.

S/C has completed a major undertaking here.

i'd like to see the mac release, as well!!! i'd bet on it happening over not, but...

this system is worth it. putting it into an environment where it is happy will do MEGA times the things for you that having your favorite computer alone will.

Firstly well done Sonic Core. Scope is an amazing product...but...

For me OSX is crucial. I can imagine a lot more industry interest if they release for mac.

In fact more to the point for me

Will the cards get OSX compatability? And when?

I cant go with Xite because there isn't enough digital (ADAT) i/o and absolutely no news of any i/o developments. Currently I am using 64 ADATi/o in my main scope system and 40 in my satelite scope system, and even thats not enough (because I have to submix in my satelite system). For a typical large scale composers rig with multiple cpu boxes you would need 80 Digital i/o so that you can avoid submixing.

Success based on an operating system isn't shared at pro studios.
PC slaves are common with Mac users.
Mac's are powerhouses but they stream with less polyphony due to the slower ECC RAM.
Having a buffer of 128 or even 256 is O.K. but having to use 512 for streaming to avoid cracks and pops is too much latency for my tastes. Hence the cheap fast streamers, mostly 64bit too.
A fast cheap PC slave will get higher polyphony at 1600 and if one were using VE Pro as a host, the need for MIDI< audio and graphucs isn't needed.
GBit LAN seems very stable and fast w/ VE Pro.

But Modular IV is the icing on the cake, and as far as cost..........break down and buy the modules. I betcha it will help them get over the fininacial hump, and we will see other developments from more revenue, well I am an optimist and naturally want Scope to stay for 10 more. By then I will have a cut out of me with some photoshopped tricks standing up behind the keyboards as I run sequencers and VDAT all while I chug Jager at the bar and pester the waittail cocktresses.

BTW, The owners of Modular III will get the 50% off upgrade price to Mod IV, unless the Jager and LSD made me misread my email this morning...
