back to topic guys...the numbers can'T be right astroman! (I hope they are not...)

If a sharc under full load would really take 10watts, my new 36dsp 3 card system would use 360 watts, I also have 3 Uad cards which also use quite alot (compared to uad-2) then an overclocked core2duo graphics 9600gt and well, 2 hds ...

and all this with an almost stilent 450W high quality brand power supply...

I hope Im not surfing the edge here already. I occasionally had crashs with my 21dsp system before under full load, I hope my psu is not too weak...

but still cant believe a sharc takes 10W, that seems alot!! a uad-1 which has one chip gets waaay hotter than any of the sharc chips in idle as well as on full load! and it uses for the whole card only 15watts, AND has a passive cooling attached to it.

suppose one sharc (old ones on home project and pro) used really 10 watts it would literally get freaking hot, too hot imho! i guess 2-3 watts under full load is a more reasonable figure...

lol you took the sharc power specifications from ipcc? ^^

a whole 15 DSP card cranking at full load will probably run around 25W (~1.5W max per DSP).

compared to an XITE-1, where each DSP could hit 1.75W max...but I can't get it even near full load.

jep, the environment gui workflow seems not yet optimezed for this amount of power...working with modular these days alot I noticed it would be nice to be able to load 10 oscs with one click just like you can set the number of tracks you wanna add in cubase for example, would help alot. Also very many time saving auto connect features would be nice, would enhance workflow alot!

edit: thanks for the numbers! Thats what I thought!

do caulking all holes in the case where no fan is mounted;
let only the fans (blow IN/OUT) do their job;
that gives much better temp results inside;

How about installing a pipe system at your DAW and directing the heat to a underfloor heating?

I dont know where you have this numbers from, but they are exactly the same as I had 10 years ago in school, we were talking about climate change etc and had a book which told us that volcanos were the largest contributor of co2 in the air, which were 3% of the greenhouse gases, concluding that the man made influence on all this was 0.115% (im not sure if it was 0.115 0.0115 or 0.00115 but I still remember the last 2 digits were 15 and it was way way smaller than 1)

Now I can tell you why I remember this so well...

well..when we read this, nobody really seemed to notice, but i was completely buffled and stared at the teacher who looked at me like I was firing a bullet any second, so she watched me and probably expected me to say something, cause she saw there was something going on in my mind, and teachers seem to like if they dont have just zombie eat it all raw students...

me: "but miss xyz, but that literally means that all thise climate stuff is really just irrelevant?!" my expression was like why in hell would anyone lie about something like that, and back then, I was 16, I could not even immagine that anyone would lie ever in science world, after all its science and claims had to be prooven before being accepted...

teacher feeling a bit uncomfortable slowly starting to bring up an answer while her face turned out to give some resigning stony cold expression:"well yes, probably yes thomas" after that se quick as lightning continued to do her stuff that she had been doing for years, if not decades as a teacher in our schoolsystem, probably she felt uncomfortable to question something that she had told probably generations before me...

In the same moment I turned myelf around on my stool and watched aroun in the class to see if anyone had any mirror neurons to show for my exitement about this...

the heating idea is good.
the CO2 storage thing is stupid. more than 95% of all "greenhouse gas" is water vapor. human co2 is a tiny(less than 10%)portion of the 3% or so co2 "greenhouse gas". brainwashing dies hard...

If there is a higher level reason for all this climate change nonsense (just as high level as the religious effect), then It is probably to control people, to make them susceptible for orders.

Just think a little kid...if it does not do any wrong and you continue to tell it it does something wrong, it finally will give up and take all your orders just like from a dictator, so im pretty sure there is some very deep mental programming at work here, and as I mentioned, churches worldwide may do the same thing, christian catholic church at least for sure.

Now the problem here: we are not bad. we are beautiful, proud, great, and no fucking slaves, we are all that is magic and even more, we are gods and even more.

But media tells us we are bad, we pollute the environment, while the market leaders and the guys who sustain this profit bases monetary system. Its nothing more than money and so called economics that pollute the world. Where clean and good technology being fought or forbidden, just to ensure everything stays as it is.

And giving your guys out there, all people of the world the feeling, the notion of being responsible for all this, is just the fucking best way to just pertain this whole system.

Now many of you might not consider working on those high levels (or call them low or deep levels if you want) of human relations. But actually there are very intelligent and powerful men out there, who never have to spend a thought about where to get their next meal, and they have time to think about how they can expand their power, they know how religion works, how media works and ultimately they know how to control people, as control is power.

Unfortunately they dont know that all this does not fulfill them, but I know what would, which gives me some power but I would never abuse it.

Anyways. All this leads to people like Chris, and trust me I know many many, especially in germany many of those, who just feel and behave like beaten dogs, with almost automatic exressions like "we are bad, planet would be better without us" bla bla bla

It surely explains a huge lot, but not all..

My 3-Scope-card DAW heats my studio so that I don't have to turn on the heater, or wear extra clothes - literally.
My network connection with collaborators around the world saves me time, money, and pollutants having to drive/fly somewhere.

Seems to me my Scope cards are actually helping the environment.

gary, how do you come to the idea that zeitgeist wants a small elite to reeducate the masses? all they want is fairness, and the know how to implement it. Decisions should not be made by opinions and believes but by observation of needs. they try to find a common denominator for all people in the world, and guess what they found some very fundamental ones! and I think they really are the most important denominators, basics are food, energy and shelter - if those principles are not met there will always be something like crime, while if they are met globally, crime will reduce to about zero in the long run.

Zeitgeist says the problems we have are not natural but nurtural, not inclusive but exclusive, and solvable, and I also think so very much.

they just want mankind to grow up, and I also want that.

I leave this thread now too, nothing productive coming out of it anymore...

well, because they said so in zeitgeist 2...

i'm for all the good stuff, though....
