I'M HAPPY, but i'm not going to shut down my mind, or turn a blind eye to reality. it's the EXACT attitude you describe, stardust, that allowed bad men in Germany to exterminate millions of Gypsies, Jews, mentally ill and disabled, the retarded, homosexuals, political dissidents, other non-Germans and anyone else the state wished to call undesirables. just join the Hitler youth and be happy![scene of Czech citizens marched through a death camp by allied troops saying "we had no idea!" i say no one wanted to know because that would have required deadly action against those in power, much more scary than the loss of one's humanity and of course, the allies also knew what had been happening, but did nothing either except to self-righteously look down upon the local townspeople when they met them] maybe eliminating many of those people WAS necessary for the continuing health of the political system, but i doubt if that was the case in even 1% of those deaths, and even if death was best for those people, the inhumane treatment of them was not. now, THESE SAME FOLKS, OR THE FAMILIES OF THOSE FOLKS WHO COMMITTED THESE GENOCIDES ARE STILL IN CHARGE SO WHAT GIVES? and even more to the point, what can you possibly gain by defending them in any way? maybe you are a closet fascist.

i'm fine with that. i don't see EVERYthing as subjective, however. i think that's at least as big of a lie and a trap as everything being from that "supposedly superior one".
