wolf audio design - release of 16 Channel Mixer

well .. all this were just theoretical thoughts. The realisation is another thing and might be impossible.
Kymeia wrote:I take it this means you can load a full Modular synth patch complete with presets and play (or effect in an effects slot)?
Only play, not load ...
Unfortunately you need to do this with the current incarnation. You don't have to rebuild it in the shell do you like with the other attempts at this concept?
I have a solution in mind, but it needs complicated user interaction in the explorer/finder.
Beside I don't know if it works I want to avoid such kind of interactions because the user is the main problem (own experience!) when using a computer

I too would love a 32 channel version. That said, another approach would be to see if there's a way to load 2 16 channel devices and have their AUX busses route to both devices. Perhaps you can create a unifier device so that you can stack multiple devices and have them output to one stereo pair (or some form of merged outputs from the control room section) with their AUX's usable on all channels across devices.
The reason why I think that might be a better solution (if possible) is that we're limited to 16 channels per midi device/module, so just adding more channels would limit the amount of assignable controls. I don't know if the SDK allows you to create single devices which can be controlled by multiple midi modules (not just an multi-device omni option, a little bit of specificity might be nice), but knowing that might better illustrate our options.
But that would satisfy everyone's wishes.... more channels, more aux's, fewer licenses to purchase and manage. Good times for all.
My $.02

i don't think this is an issue with mackie control protocol.....dehuszar wrote:The reason why I think that might be a better solution (if possible) is that we're limited to 16 channels per midi device/module, so just adding more channels would limit the amount of assignable controls. corrections?
nope, just additionsgaryb wrote:corrections?

Beside other advantages the MC protocol simply assures an easy setup.
But even without you can still utilize bank switches (to ie. control 32 volume sliders with 8 hardware sliders) and use any controler with any midi channel (results in far over 2064 different controlers, which should be sufficient).
This still would need a basic redesign of the mixer, as you want to control the aux send of each channel, not of the already mixed aux busses.dehuszar wrote:That said, another approach would be to see if there's a way to load 2 16 channel devices and have their AUX busses route to both devices.
Shure, it does .. I'm just trying to imagine step sequencing a mixerHere's a 32 channel hardware sequencer that Wolf's 32 would work with.

There's now v1.1 available with a few bugfixes and separate aux/bus outputs to i.e. route them back into the mixer.
The 32ChannelMixer might be available next week.
And here a little and completely non-pro video about the mixer in action:

Well, the reason I mention 48 is in reference to CW's 48 channel mixer which I've been using for a couple of years now. There's nothing wrong with it per se other than a few annoyances that will probably never be fixed. I'm just stoked to see someone actually tackle something new - I don't care how many channels it eventually ends up with. I say thanks to you for that.
Come on - the colors? You got every color of the rainbow in your promo shot. It made my eyeballs freak out

So the promo shot did its job .. good to know .. and I just wanted it to be prepared for the next 70ies revivalCome on - the colors? You got every color of the rainbow in your promo shot. It made my eyeballs freak out![]()

Right in the moment this message is send, I'll dissolve into nothing with a silent "pfft" .. maybe I'll return as Marvin somewhen.Actually Brotha' Man Wolf, I need 128 channels ..
