Sonicore board options for CME controllers
I'm not sure how European taxes will influence the estimated US price, but based on currency alone it looks pretty reasonable (almost a bit competive), imho.
It's what you would spend on many quality instruments, be it a sax, a bass, a guitar, a good stage-piano, a mint Rhodes or Minimoog...
cheers, Tom

I know someone (a local gear junkie) who sold a Jupitor-8 for over £2800 (pounds sterling) around a year or so ago. It was such an astonishing price for that synth (possibly the highest in many years) that other gear (synth) junkies on ebay were seemingly sending him messages congratulating him on the sale price he got.
My point is just that people will still pay money for something they really want, even in a world where ebay has oblitorated 2nd hand prices through sheer chaos

did he replace the hardware with the Arturia version....
seriously I really wanna see SonicCore hire back the two guys that made the prodyssey and minimax emulation(especially the great filters) and build a proper Jupiter for Scope
an inDSP ASB jupiter could complement the product range.
+ and Oberheim emulation
to show of the arturia guys how its really done.
The minimax, pro-12 and prodyssey are real sequels.... and in my personal opinion much more worth than the money I paid for them+the cards.

We shouldn't say that so often here, they are listening.hifiboom wrote:and in my personal opinion much more worth than the money I paid for them+the cards.
The best attitude would be 'very moderated positiv'

Not sure about the rights on those old synths, it's discussed long time ago but I forgot.
Can you just 'copy' the Minimoog?
Licenses are expensive, Minimax wasn't.
Those days the word 'emulating' had to be invented yet.
If the company that has the rights is still alive it could be different.
A U KNOW 007 is one thing, an emulation of a Jupiter8 is another one

Not seen much Roland VSTi's even...
VSTi?
I really don`t use them too much anymore...
A few are satisfiying but none really blows my mind.
Most of them are crap.
At the end the few that sound good are spread between hundrets of worse ones. So its really a waste of time.
concidering licensing, I think unless you don`t press the real name onto a plug-in you won`t have a problem.
Thats why Juno becomes "u know"

Sure, but that's a detail, just implied to avoid formal accusations of 'abuse of naming'.
It IS a different synth tho, no judge can deny that, we therefor now have the Minimax.
Not sure about jurisprediction on emulating technics tho.
I agree about the use of VSTi's, I decided to concentrate on a few (Scope) soft synths (Wavelenght) and my hardware machines.
For really good results you better take care knowing your gear in depth, so this (initial) restriction is even an adventage -if choices were right-.

Re: Costi
Same as Scope and ASBsPlease let us know also, a very important thing about your expantion (and a crucial part for a hard synth), what sample rate (with internal oversampling? or not) and what bit resolution will have the asx, and also tell us something about the quality of the synths code comparing to the Scope, ASB and Klangbox. PLEASE!!!
Minimax , PRO 12, Prodessey, B4000,Lightwave,Voco+Lightwave,and " A very nice FM based Synth"Another thing that it is crucial about the expansion is the software upgrade, what synths and softwares you'll have on this platform??? All the Scope synths will be included or just the abs and knlangbox synths? Can you give us names of the synths? The patches from the Scope platform will be compatible with the expantions synths???
These synths will be available within the first few months. Later, Lets see.....
Thought about this, Found ASX is a synthWhy don't you make a stereo input in stead of the mic input, or both options with a switch??? Will be more open for other studio setups and you'll can sell also the efex plugs that are very good as a quality. If it not possible with the first release in june maybe in the second one

Another question is regarding the future, it will be other synths makers involved in your projects (other than usual creamware colaborators)?

I Agree. This is a Great IDEA and YES we will consider that .....And the last question, and very important one... Do you plan to have your software editor for the expantion to work as a VSTI in the DAW environment (Ableton, Cubase)???, and work well, not like the XTC mode that makes us nervous...... THIS WILL BE A WONDERFULL FEATURE, it will encourage alot of users to buy it cause will be very easy for them to edit and save pathches. Believe me!!!!!!!!

Re: Stardust
Your apprehensions have been given due consideration.

Re: Costi
What would be the selling policy: the usual CW policy with a startup package (the one described on the CME website) and then some extra plug activation for sale or the Access way of doing it with free updates.Sandeep.inDSP wrote:

The second one would have my favour, though I would be glad if DSP expansion would be possible (and then pay for it).
My 2 cents.

One more question to InDSP guys:
Is the hardware basis of the ASX more or less the same as the ASB and Klangboxes core ?
My guess would be that this board provide hardware-wise just half the DSP power of ASB and Klangbox.
In that case would it be possible to imagine an upgrade release for all that stuff to enable the same features as the ASX (multidevice or even dual part multitimbral).
Then the KlangBox could be seen as an external dual ASX engine.
And for the ASB unit, the dedicated control panel which could perhaps also be useable for other device (an ADSR enveloppe is always cotrolled the same way on a Minimax, a Pro12 or a Prodyssey. The cutoff an resonnance parameters are also common. Even a partial control feature would be great.).
Just to provide you some more ideas to make these range of devices some bestsellers.

is the 300ish price tag with the asx?
is that board included in the price tag?, if so, is it speculative in the future or is a release scheduled this yr?
vx 80 with asx would be great
if the asx can come with a vx 8(piano keys) and motorized fader, that would be awesome, anyone want to buy my noah ex for 1000 canadian then?(has all the plugs)
Re: vx 80 with asx would be great
I think it could be OK for you with the Icon Virtual sériesWired wrote:if the asx can come with a vx 8(piano keys) and motorized fader, that would be awesome, anyone want to buy my noah ex for 1000 canadian then?(has all the plugs)

I think something similar to the ASX board has been announced at the last NAMM show. This one include 8 motorized fader ... with 16 encoder and 8 MPC-style DrumPads.
Maybe you should pay attention that the DSP power of this board seem to be "just" the same as the standard NOAH (though a breakthrough as they seem to be able to achieve with one only new DSP the same work as what was done with 6 old DSP in the NOAH).
The ASX board is announced by CME for june. No release date so far for the ICON series of masterkeyboards.
Being also interessed about this type of solution I will go on focusing on this particular topic.

Hi all!
When is the ASX board for CME going to ship?
I heard a rumour about June-07,but I can''t get it verified anywhere.
And does anyone know if it's possible to use the ASX togther with the Waldorf Nano to up the polyphony somewhat? I know it's possible to use 2 Nano's,so I sincerely hope that this will be possible.
Best regards

Is the ASX DSP-card still alive?
Is the ASX DSP-board still due for release? First, som said it would be released june 2007,then october, and now it's nearly 2008.
Am I waiting for a ghost?
If so,please tell me,because I've cancelled my purchase of the Waldotf Nano expansion because I rather wanted the ASX.
Best regards
