The joke wasn't funny in this global age of instant reading. Over here on the west coast of the U. States, it was March 31st. I wasn't expecting to be hit with April fools' jokes.

I really do hope Frank is working on PCI-E cards with TigerSharcs for the Mac, though! (Let him take notice....)

you're right Shayne, ... this global age of instant reading. Over here on the west coast of the U. States, it was March 31st..
but I had no choice
the coincidence of the Messe ending (without real CW news) and the current date was to good to let go :-D

re-reading the thread it's even more hard to make some of us believe it is not true than the opposite

I'm wondering now -- is the fact that Huibird said it's an April Fools' joke in itself an April Fools' joke? Maybe we've all been taken in that it's NOT happening! :D

We'll have to wait for tomorrow for the REAL truth....

consciousness wasn't far away tho:

Let's wait till frank makes new announcements soon, like he told me to do in a few days, 147 will be a memorable number he said with a grin, but I don't have a clue what that's supposed to mean

:P -----> grin

Wow, that's about the least humorous "joke" I've ever seen. I guess humor is subjective, but I don't see anything really clever or funny about the content of this hoax.

now that's funny! :-D

Well, I understand that you were *trying* to be funny. So no problem there.

But it's just poor taste. You do an announcement, during Musikmesse, representing for a specific business professional. Just poor taste. But again, like humor, that's subjective.

But the really *funny* part is how un-creative your spoof was. You posted about a completely plausible product. Usually when people do April fool's jokes, they make them hyperbole, i.e. wild enough, that you might guess they are April Fool's jokes.

I was quite aware that it was April 1. But looking at the text, I thought there was no way that someone would do something this lame during MusikMesse. Just lame.

I really agree with you about making jokes 'hyperbole' to get them 'justified' or funny.

If you don't see that this was actually the case, then we know on what we disagree :-D

My initial post was totally improbable, in every aspect :-D
From F. Hund letting me make such an important announcement, up to the idea of cards next month already, as well as to the Mac support-first and the immediate abandoning of XP...what do you want more :o

Hyperboling a joke makes it more funny, definitely true, as those who trap into it fall harder :-D
Timing is even more important.
Thought this was covered by the high expectations and the lack of actual announcements, combined with the very possibility to meet F.H. personaly.
(I wasn't there btw).

Don't wanne look like trying to 'proof' my joke was so funny, I was just asking myself, what thread did you read? ;-)

Agreed.

It's just a drag, in the background of this. A *lot* of people were hoping that there was going to be a 2nd announcement at MusikMesse this year, and precisely that it would be the road-map for a next-gen PCIe card. So it's just sad. No 2nd announcement.

The Bowen Solaris is an earth-shaker though, so it was a good MusikMesse in any event.

I see.
You're too much disappointed to be able or wanting to see the fun of it.

In other threads we already came to the conclusion that it would take at least another year before inDSP will come out with something really new.
Personally I didn't expect so much -if anything- from them now.
The playcards are just husseled, the future has just started, and John -indeed- is the real winner of this stop :-D
cheers :-)

Putting up a bit of back up for Hubird on this one adding to some of the impossible things in this thread. It didn't fool me. 1) There is no way, that Frank would not announce this himself. It is a big announcement. 2) There is no way at all(!) that there would be a card ready for sale in a month, and it wasn't officially announced at Messe.

hubird,

thank god I'm a peaceful person :)
otherwise I might have considered gunning down every single caravan carrying a yellow registration plate from now on...

I didn't even think about checking the date, so one could say this is my own fault, though.. :)

-greetings, markus-
