Now that my home team is going home with their tails between their legs, I wanna know who's gonna win? Predictions please. What are the chances of the same person predicting the winner here, and in the synth naming contest? Now that would be considered a good week here in Nevada.

Argentina, Spain or Brazil in my opinion. I'd like to see an England vs Argentina final, but I think the result would be a bit embarrassing for England, who are quite frankly utterly crapulent, overpaid, overrated footballers who either cannot or do not enjoy playing real football.
See the above teams for examples of players who can play football and enjoy doing so.

Now that's just greedy!

Two should be more than enough for anybody.
It was a joy to watch Brazil turn it on against Japan for a while last night, even though 'Tubby' Ronaldo seemed reluctant to move more than 5 yards in any direction. I think this is his new tactic - he stands still so people forget about him, then he scores a goal!
Note to Japan: don't score first against Brazil, it only upsets them.
As for England, Ericson has missed the perfect opportunity to play Theo Walcot. when can he try him now? In the knockout phase? Picking up a lot of injuries too...
I think that England might still have something in the bank though, I'm hoping that playing against better opposition will wake them up a bit.
My prediction: Germany still. I wouldn't bet against them!

Must have been a boring game to you then

But I'm sure if there had been real pressure for Argentina to win we yet would have seen another Argentina
same goes for holland though, as both teams were trough no matter what happened. As a result, neither side was showing anything interesting or exciting.
I hope Van Basten kicks out Van Nistelrooy for the match against Portugal though. He's been pretty dissapointing so far for all he's cracked up to be.

Oh man, that English ref somehow managed to be more embarassing than the England team

from what I've seen so far it seems that it is impossible to be offside against australia and that as we are nasty rough boys down here you can just pick us up and throw us away and thats allright ..sheesh.
Wouldn't it be great to have the games officiated by software .Anyway good luck everybody ,it's fun isn't it even if the times arn't too flash down here . 5 a.m. kick off local time is about the easiest to watch . I just cant make it through to 3 a.m. anymore

Yo
I simply thought the ref was crap.. Australia deserved to win IMHO. I think they are a pretty decent footballing team (good coach and the players seem to listen to him and can play football).
The ref unfortunately couldn't control the game. Controlling the game does not mean getting every decision right - every ref makes mistakes in every game.
What if the player that should have been sent off had scored? In fact what if any Croatian player had scored? Surely having a player more than you should have is pretty unfair, and is quite unprecedented in football at pretty much any level.

Almost every game has had poor decisions by the referee!! The France Vs South Korea game was an outrage. The French Scored a goal that the SK keeper cleared from almost the back of the net & yet neither the linesmen or REF spotted it. The French should've won that game, but didn't.
The red cards & bookings in general have mostly been controversial too. Very inconsistant to say the least...
Anyone notice the hand ball from the free kick in the Ukraine Vs Tunisia game yesterday? It was a clear penalty!! Meanwhile the penalty given to Ukraine wasn't a penalty at all

I'll miss Ivory Coast

but Argentina WILL eventually be an opponent

Sweden gave up early (nothing reminded at their amazing performance in the recent European championship)
cheers, Tom

I think Germany with the power-start, had deceided this match after only 15 min.
Mexico played a great game, but home they go
The winner of Germany - Argentina will go to the final - i predict!

I thought the players deserved it

These guys have a lot of rivalry in recent tournaments so I think it was always going to be bad-tempered.
I thought the Dutch were very happy to dive - if that big girl's blouse Robben had stayed on his feet instead of falling over all the time he might have scored. Sad

imho it started with Bhoularouz 'kicking' Christiano Ronaldo out of the match...
the <a href=

cheers, Tom
