Hmm,

I swear Apple had no real bios in years. They have some good ideas like getting rid of the stupid floppy drives

Which is cool, is that I am already on it, and am starting to install all drivers, antivirus, etc., you know, the progression of always...

My macbook is almost 4 years old and very close to desktop in terms of raw processing. I ran geekbench on both. I am not sure how that is possible as the desktop is clocked 2x the mac but theyre both i7 quad :o

Yeah,

It's a pain in the back. It took me almost 2 days worth of research and experimentation to wipe clean an old netbook with XP... Slipstreaming and all that, nothing worked. The installation was always crashing. But I've been stress testing this device for 3 days straight now and yes the Atom did hit 86 degrees but hasn't crashed yet.

Updates are always fun! XP updated itself like 10 times with a reboot every time.

My problem right now is to get to know all these new software that comes with the MOBO, there are so many apps to do all sort of things. I want a simple fast setup, so I will sort out which are the usuful ones

Oh, I know. You don't need all the drivers really...

It should actually work without any drivers. The only driver I installed on my mobo was the Ethernet. Maybe you'll also need the intel chipset driver. Mine worked fine without it. I know, it's a mess.

Oh, do not install extra apps. They're of no use. Like the automatic overclocking stuff and all that. I recommend to not overclock at all if anything. You have a fast chip.

There are a few ones I foud useful to install, many are useless actually for what I do, apps intended for gamers most of all.

I am surprised at how much technology has changed in just a few years... I feel a bit overwhelmed

It hasn't changed much in the last 5 years. In fact I was rocking 6 cores hard and two GTX 470s back then :D

Then I snapped out of it

Now my desktop is music softwarez only. MacBook for fun. Some slow Win 10 laptops for Visual Studio 2015 (Christ, this thing made my Transformer Book choke).

Cheers,

I've just downloaded scope 5.1. Now, which should be the procedure to install the software with two Pulsar I cards?

insert the cards, connect the s/tdm cable, turn on the PC, run the installer.

Thanks Gary, that's very simple. So the cable must be connected, fine.

You need at least 1 card plugged in to install the software. But yes, if you have more than 1 you need the cable needs to be connected or the software will complain (I think).
