Hey, I didn't take it as an insult, definitely not. I would do, if you would still believe that this was a massproduced song made only for the money.
"Commercial" to me, means that it is music that generates income. Commercial music is not in any way a music genre, as there are no real rules that defines the style of a "commercial" song. It is basically a definition of the method of making money out of the music. But of course I understand your point, and what you mean with it. Many of the typical radio hits sound the same, but I can't find any reason to dislike a song just because it has been released on the commercial market (which basically means that it has been released as a single or on an album). I couldn't call myself a true music lover, if I would automatically dislike everything that I hear on the radio...
However, in those cases when I know that the "artist" is a product of a record label (Britney, boybands and alike), it is quite easy to find reasons to not like the songs. But it can still be good music, right?
Thanks, I appreciate that you are honest. As I said, I have no problems with taking rough comments, as long as they have a point. You do have a point, in that you don't like music that sounds mainstream. I can never change that opinion, and I would of course never even try to do it... =)
But I do want to make sure that you understand that Lagoona is not mass-producing music, that we are not making music for the money (meaning that it is not "commercial" at all, even though it may sound a bit like typical radio hit vocal trance songs), and that the music has a lot of emotions and meanings for us as persons.
By the way, I will start with changing the bassline and experimenting with the EQ once again tonight! Thanks for your support...

Intro section. Nice! I like it. Fits my ethnology. (listen to the first tune of the Finland project) I'm half Japanese and Chinese.
About the vocals... I had a feeling that the vocal wasn't really "in" to the atmosphere of the tune. The sound is more wide, more spread out... like the mountains in China. I thought the voice can be a more "permiating" voice. Very beautiful tho. The repetitive melody and scale is... well, oriental if you ask me. Just that the voice is a bit "calm" for such taste. I'd play my real Chinese flute over this any day.
About the whole commercial music thing.. well, atleast I sort of feel the passion behind the melody line. There is somehting that such a simple melody line can bring to the listener. Just like traditional music. Anyhow, I think everyone has a right to be commercial or whatever... just do his own "thang".
Me, I'm quite fed up with the academic people wanting to do away with any form of commercial music. Commercial music does have its goods.. and obviously, it's just smart to use such conventions.
