Well, that's really compassionate of you guys to buy CW stuff to help them. I see it this way: If I was short of money and really, really really needed whatever CW synth for a project that could save my life financially, CW wouldn't give a fart. They would surely not give me this synth for free or on credit. For the same reason, I'm not gonna buy anything from them to keep them alive. If they don't make it, there are other manufacturers and that's it. My loyalism to brands is less than reduced, it's actually non-existent. No CW? No problem. There are still UAD-1, NI and many, many others.

GonZoft, I really can't imagine a case, if a synth could save a financial life.

But we all would like to take part of the further developement of CW stuff - hard and soft.
It would be a pity if CW's developement would suddenly stop. Our wishlist is long ...
I think, many of us don't want to change to another system if CW dies. Now we know the strong points and the imperfections of Pulsar and many of us make fantastic music with it.
I wouldn't like to change. Maybe you are more flexible.

Well as far as I'm concerned it's in my interests to support Creamware financially. I've invested big time in their hardware and software until now and I don't want to find that I end up with a dead platform.

I love my Creamware set up and I want to see it continue?

It's a bit narrow-sighted to think that buying Creamware products at this time is some magnaminous gesture on our part. It's just as appropriate to say that it's a selfish act on our part.

I dedicate a lot of my time to helping promote various pieces of software and hardware, but not necessarily because I'm a saint. I want the platforms I use to flourish - it's good for me in the long run.
If that means investing a bit of money and/or time than so be it.

Looks like it might be almost time to look at purchasing Vinco.

That's what you get when you're products aren't up the par and when you lie to your customers.

Damn... Now I won't be able to sell my cards for a reasonable price...

It's a damn shame... (the not beeing able to sell part that is) for the rest all I can say. It was obvious this was going to happen. It was in the air for some time now...

Have you ever thought of the future, if this realy goes as bad, as some people think? Here is my guess:

1) For a period of time Pulsars will float Ebay, and the satisfied custommers will be able to expand their setup at very favorable prices.

2) Time will pass, and eventually some famous pop-star will say something about a Prophet + or some other CW exclusive device, and people will wonder, where to get a second hand Pulsar and an old PC that use PCI-busses.

Well, it is a thought anyway

NO! It hasn't..

Creamware wrote that pressrelease as a formality.
The only reason they have had some problems lately, is because they had the NOAH hardware in production for two months without the software beeing redy, this means that a lot of money wen't into it's production, but they were not able to sell it.
NOW it is ready, and now it will sell.

The bankers know that they will earn more money by waiting this situation out, than making CW bankrupt.

So stop this nonsense, it's not as big a deal as some of you make it.
This happens ALL the time, it is JUST a formality!

I hope you're right. I'm still waiting for new cards with onboard RAM and 6 350mhz G3 procs or something instead of ancient 60mhz Sharcs...

I could definately chew up whatever DSP I can get my hands on...

If Creamware gets out of business..nobody will benefit from that. Even if you don´t intend to buy any further CW products, there´s still the necessity of getting new drivers for all those software platforms ( Asio-3, Giga-3, ...)

It would definitely be the best to have CW with us for years to come. My previous post was more like trying to see it from the positive side, if things turn out bad. However, if things goes bad, I still think, that some people will find out too late, what they where missing.

If they had made NOAH able to run regular SFP devices and effects like AMPER and third party SFP synths, I think they would have sold many more units. Without that capability, I see no reason to buy one...

They could have included the current functionality, but made it irresistable for those of us who need a portable system. I am actually transitioning back to using mainly hardware synths because it really sucks to build amazing sounds on SFP devices in my project studio, but have to use lesser sounds on hardware out...
