Time to say thank to all who helped me to get a good recording device.
Thanks Braincell, the Olypus devices look s great but are for voice recordings only.
I´ve searched for the DS3000, the frequence response works from 300-5000Hz in SP mode and 300-3000HZ in LP mode, it will costs around 370$. Good for speech recording only.

Thank you Zonnie, your recordings helped me alot and I think I will buy a MiniDisc recorder this week. Your recordings are lovley and precise that kind of recordings I want to make.
So I will compare some DATs and MD recorder this week and will let you know what I´ve bought finally next week.

I think I go for this MD recorder:

I'm glad I could help!

I hope you get something that will suit your portable recording needs!

The other equation: What mic are you going to use?

Skoal!

Chris, how is your minidisc going ? I'm thinking of getting one now too, probably the Sony MZ-701. It's pretty cheap and seems to have everything I need (level indicator etc).

I can´t tell you Spirit, I´ll buy it foremost next week. My CD-Burner canceled his life, so I must buy a new one first.
I will give you a review next week.
Cheers

Fostex MR-8 ($300 at zzounds.com)

This is what you want but the drawback is it uses expensive flash cards versus the MD which uses cheap media, still the battery life would be much longer and with no moving parts my guess is it would last longer. Seems like it's twice the price of an MD recorder but the extra features make it worth it.

Interesting. I've already got plenty of Flash cards. But not really portable for spontaneous moments... Still, things are getting closer

Agreed, very interesting. Good that I haven´t bought something yet.
Damn, the decision is not easy but this Fostex would be cheaper or near the same price as my chosen MD-R. And the quality would be better than any MD-R. 25min should be enough to record enviromentals( or is it 25min for each track, thats around 100min for a single stereo track,or?) 1min 16bit 44.1kHz stereo is around 10MB.

Thank you Braincell this is a good suggestion/alternative.
