It's really hard for me to say though... that despite the nags and bugs in the programming and etc.. atleast the multicomp sounded ok to my ears. ?? Is the underlying dsp programming technically under par? I'm not very sure. I don't know what goes on in the scope dp area.

The reverb... well, I dunno. I actually bought it so I don't want to say I regret it.. but anyway, I'd have to admit that regardless of the quality of the reverb, I'd say it's way to intensive on DSP to make it practical. The sound gets colorized. Well, which also makes it a unique device. Everything has a use, sort to say. I once had a music box solo track that I used with goldverb. It worked great.... but I still wouldn't say it's a general, for-everyone device.
But I'm surprised, that even Sub denies the dspdev product line... I'm beginning to wonder what the bottom line is. The poor quality of the programming? The commercialistic approach of Nikko? Or just bad results (in that case, I've gotten some good results). Cuz I thought they're ok.. Maybe there's a good reason why I should expect better? I'm starting to become curious, which is a good sign that I'll be learning something new.

About device prices and marketing:
I've been told by someone who can know that expensive devices sell better than cheap ones. People tend to think it's better cos it's more expensive...

I realize that 3rd party support for Creamware cards is weak at the moment, but I'm not sure why people are knocking DSPDev products. If anyone is to blame, it's CW for making the development process and licensing a pain in the ass.

I own the VerbPro and prefer it over any DX or VST reverb. Also, the Multicomp sounds very decent from the audio files posted on the site.

I know what you're thinking, but I don't believe that they are fakes. Why bother. I own Phonoxone's Terminator and can get similar results out of it. If I had enough DSP's, I'd leave it in every project.

Yeah, some of the VerbPro's have some minor bugs, but that's acceptable from a one man operation. The entire Verb line sounds different; each one has its own character. Probably due to the custom DSP files...

To me, if it sounds good, use it. Everybody uses marketing, as it's necessary. Listen to the sample audio files or download the demo, and judge for yourselves.

that's no negative hype or bashing on DADEV.
Their stuff goes for top end prices and is promoted with accordingly big words.
The aural quality doesn't match this at all.
This doesn't say the devices are unusable, but they don't deliver what's in the ads. Compared to Celmo's or EarlyFirst prices it's ridiculous.
But they let everyone try-before-buy so there's nothing really to complain about.

I think Kensuguro is right: everything has its use.

I think also Astroman is right: everyone can check the demos.

My error was to buy the multicomp too quickly, with overconfidence to what is told in the DSPDev website. It can happens. It gaves me a lesson. I wouldn't make the same error twice.

The fact remains that DSPDev lies on the "6 V-Tube in the multicomp" topic.

The other fact remaining is that the bypass of the multicomp is not a bypass. It is no lie to say that it's not a professional behaviour.

Just think by yourself. Don't let anyone suggests you abusives affirmations.

Simon Ayton made new SFP versions of all his devices. Myself and other users got free updates of Speakulator, Infinilooper and Robostrobe.

i guess we will see what happens with this stuff. i find some cool uses for these devices and i can't complain about the price- nikko gave me downloads of all the devices when i started selling creamware cards- so i can demo to customers etc..

Whatever happened to PT reverbs?
I've emailed asking when they would be updated several times but have never had a response.

I even offered to buy the old ones and upgrade when the new ones were released. No response.

Doesn't really bode well.

This is offtopic for this thread, but from the earlyfirst postings on this board, he is active here on this forum, and has mentioned that he has completed his next-gen circuits, but the newstyle preset list is taking a large amount of time ... but feel free to start a thread about earlyfirst (I am sure he would respond). Also, this is completely different than if you are already an existing customer seeking support vs. a customer just looking to buy at a time when there are no products currently on offer. A very big difference in my view.

I'm very surprised to find this thread.

I must say that if you don't like my devices, well don't buy them.

I've currently more than 1000 registered users. And everything seems to be fine for them.

There are demos, sound demo, and well, I cannot please every one :=)

About the reverb, if you have heard the Verbone demo dated in 1999, it is probably not the best thing. In the mean time there is a fully functionnal demo of the Goldverb.
I don't think it is a 'crap device' at all.

About the Vtube, it is not 'only' a distorsion devices, or maybe you have some trouble with your ears, I've no comments on this, just download the demo, check it out, I can't beleive you can say things like that after having checked the demo for real.

As a conclusion, please check your member's pages, all the device I make are supported until today and there were a lot of updates, bug fix and so on.

I'm thinking about the Multicomp that had a long update series, and some release had bugs inside, until it goes stable.

And grock, I don't think you can do a Multicomp like you describe it, belive me it is a hard work to create something like the multicomp. And now you can have it for 69 $.
