i spent a year getting angry with my pulsar. i realised what i was doing was using it as an excuse not to make music. if you have problems, in a modern pc setup with lots of different software, you can always find ways round, there are almost always many different ways to achieve the same result. if your system has limitations - USE the limitations, and find creative ways round them. i guess it depends what sort of music you want to make - but personally i'm trying to make stuff that is a bit experimental - i think being forced to use unconventional methods actually helps me produce stuff that sounds different. so problems can actually work to your advantage by forcing you to think laterally. are you trying to make music, or are you trying to make a slick demonstration of the wonders of modern computing to impress your mates? think about it. eg i have never solved my audio/pulsar synchronisation problems in cubase - so ok, now i simply record all my pulsar noodles as wavs, and then produce tracks by arranging the audio. this works, and accidentally produces weird results that i would never have thought of otherwise. negative becomes positve. USE your limits and stop WHINGEING.
