Use cpu-z to check CPU freq: it shouldn't be 800Mhz. If it is, power states are biting your ankle.
Make sure you have chip set drivers updated. Try disabling WiFi networking.

And all other drivers eg : http://www.drivertoolkit.com/
Re: Anyone successfully using Cubase Pro 8 with Scope on XIT
it must be a timing issue. something is not setup correctly(obviously, sorry!).
this is with ASIO drivers?

If it helps I have an ASUS X99-S. The PCI-e are all x16. I have no access to the x4. Could that be an issue? I was under the impression that x16 was fine with x1 cards. If that is a problem the only way I can access the x4 would be to move the graphics card to another slot - is that a viable option (I have only ever used a graphics card in slot 1)?
I will try the other suggestions now.
CPU running at 4250 MHz (or 4.25 GHz if you prefer).

Tried all ASIO settings. 25ms was too long for ASIO Guard so only tried the middle three settings: 13ms, 7ms and 4ms (I figured it was pointless trying 3ms). Always the same PCI limit error.
I'm at a loss as to why this is so difficult on such a powerful machine. If I can't get this working within a week or so I may have to do the unthinkable and sell the XITE, something I would never have considered before but I'm a bit dispondent at the moment and the cash would be helpful: knowing I could never afford to go back though ;(.

I got ASIOGUARD working on high latency.
Anyway is there any way you can call a warentee return on the mobo or machine ?
Have you still got old machine ?

Well I'm not sure I can use a warranty on something that's working. They'd probably swap the motherboard though, but I'd need to swap with something that will definitely work as I'd have to ship it back to them, I can't keep trying different motherboards like some guinea pig.dante wrote:Anyway is there any way you can call a warentee return on the mobo or machine ?
Yes, but it's starting to creak a bit on some stuff, and of course I can't use Kontakt on that one parrticularly successfully, which was part of the reason to for the new computer (I needed a new one anyway as it was getting slow, I want to do more video work and also a lot of programs are starting to become 64-bit only).dante wrote:Have you still got old machine ?

I tried one more thing. I wanted to try Slot 2 as this is the only x4 slot and had to move the graphics card to gain access. Well the x4 slot doesn't work either. I am at a loss now and I will try the computer support on Monday (I have a five-year warranty) to see if they have any ideas. I honestly can't see me getting this working so my options are get rid of a new and expensive computer or get rid of XITE.

True but if it worked after one swap then you wouldn't need any more.Mr Arkadin wrote:Well I'm not sure I can use a warranty on something that's working. If it works on the old machine but not on two new ones that would be a wierd scenario.

Re: Anyone successfully using Cubase Pro 8 with Scope on XIT
The stupid thing is Scope works fine with games via the wave module. Maybe from that we can conclude it's ASIO related?
Re: Anyone successfully using Cubase Pro 8 with Scope on XIT
Just a wild shot - have you tried a project with only 2 asio channels (minimal asio)?
Re: Anyone successfully using Cubase Pro 8 with Scope on XIT
if it were an ASIO problem, there would be a whole lot of other people complaining.
the PCIe card really needs to be in a x1 slot. bigger slots work, but they're pretty sloppy. i'm not saying that this is the issue, however.

Re: Anyone successfully using Cubase Pro 8 with Scope on XIT
This motherboard has 5xPCIe x16 and 1xPCIe x4 slots, no x1 slot. I don't think there's any X99 with x1 slots - some have two x4 slots though, which might be an option if I could guarantee it would work (not looking hopeful from this experiment so far).
Maybe I can downgrade to an X79 which I think has 2xPCIe x1 slots. Shame as I was trying to make this PC build relatively future-proof.

Re: Anyone successfully using Cubase Pro 8 with Scope on XIT
i don't think that the "future-proofness" will be affected much either way.
i'm not convinced that the slot is the problem, but it's possible.

I've kind of run out of things to disable now. I'll see if the guys have any ideas Monday but right now I am not hopeful. It just seems impossible that every slot does this, given that the only other peripheral is the graphics card, which I kind of need.
Re: Anyone successfully using Cubase Pro 8 with Scope on XIT
Did you try this? I'm thinking that maybe having 24 stereo asio channels are too many for your system to handle?petal wrote:Just a wild shot - have you tried a project with only 2 asio channels (minimal asio)?
Re: Anyone successfully using Cubase Pro 8 with Scope on XIT
Faulty RAM maybe (?)
Re: Anyone successfully using Cubase Pro 8 with Scope on XIT
24 ASIO channels across PCIe is not an issue. the problem isn't a lack of bandwidth.
Re: Anyone successfully using Cubase Pro 8 with Scope on XIT
I know it shouldn't be, still he is getting a 'PCI capacity limit reached' message.
