i'm not a mod in any way, nor am i here on any official business or capacity. i'm not speaking for anyone but myself, personally. i'm strictly a user offering assistance. if it doesn't help, sorry.
i may be condescending, but you're being kinda rude. i think the troll moniker is fitting at this time. you are pointing your anger in the wrong direction. neither i nor SonicCore, nor this message board have wronged you.

It's a deeper problem than the samplers, it goes to the heart of how Sonic Core do business. As to GaryB's statements let no one be fooled, he like most here claim the moral high ground but in the end are the achilles heel.

I really admire losers. They remind me of the excellent beck song.

Now that I have a working system, you should know that I don't care whether you work for Sonic Core or not and that making assumptions about what I use or don't is a dangerous act.
I say this as a warning to you because:
a) you don't know
and
b) it is negative in the extreme
so please refrain from making such assumptions in future because I have no qualms about calling people out over what should be a reasonable discussion.
The sampler(s) used in Scope are out-of-date and should be fixed. Now as to whether they are broken or not, this is beside the point and is technically moot.
Therefore, as a customer (which you are not) I expect more so arguing with a customer about what is or isn't broken, when obviously something doesn't work on a given system and then turning around and saying that their computer is overkill; when you don't even know what the person does is highly offensive and will only cause myself at least to argue back.
Please put in a a feedback request about this issue since I know it would be a rare feat for you and Sonic Core to actually do some work in this regard and take on board positive feedback.
P.S. About 32 bit vs 64 bit, I think you need to actually try it to know.
Astonishing. Really.
Warning? Dangerous?
The only thing I've seen thus far that was "negative in the extreme" was your post - and you were seeking out 'help'. Apparently, not the right kind, but at $200/hr for what's required, no surprise there...

As I said, I am up and running now and gave thanks already.

Scope 6 probably will be. S|C spending time certifying it for 5.x would be a total waste of R&D time IMHO since it works on Win 8 anyway - and so do many other apps that aren't 'certified'.
As for going 64 bit - for me there were other reasons besides running Kontakt - although that was a big motivator.
But STS compatibility was the least of the problems I tackled in doing so, and I find it hard to believe it would be an upgrade show stopper for 99.9% of the world, regardless of the moral arguments.

You are absolutely correct, Dante.
I held out hope there would be no showstoppers but typically I find, as the Windows' security model changes; I realise why I must restart Windows and that the experience of doing so (reboot computer) is more random than not.
I am hopeful too that Scope 6 will address this problem, more so than STS but being a new user I can't help but develop the view that there should be more sequencer type devices created for Scope platform, such as pattern sequencers, samplers with .sfz support and a control protocol akin to Rewire just to float out some ideas.

Scope is stable in win8.
certification wouldn't change that.
i can't really think of anything that would crash Scope in win8 that wouldn't crash Scope in XP, except for the 64bit exceptions, STS, Arp and XTC.
you may have other issues.
rhe reason i say "not broken" is that STS is working exactly as it should. it was never intended to work in 64bit wndows. it's not surprisaing that it doesn't. this is not something that i'm excited or happy about, but it is reality, so i'm ok with it.

Probably addressed by Mattomat and Copperlan respectively.
