Definitely two different worlds. The peeps on electro-music.com made a G1 to G2 converter once, but it's mostly close, but not 100%.
The G2 has a lot more power, and is easier to make a patch...no need for master/slave oscillators, or always wiring up your keyboard to each envelope. It also has good MIDI modules, which the G1 didn't.
Also, the "G1" is only called a Nord Modular, while the G2 is the Nord Modular G2. The first gen came in a short keyboard w/ 18 pots, a rack with 18 pots, or the micro modular, practically a guitar pedal. The G2 camein 37 keyboard with a totally different interface that used encoders with LEDs and displays, a larger keyboard (and extra mod wheels), or a rack (which has no interface beyong a power button).

Re: SC Six-String
It's the G1 and no CD. The guy begged me for 450 then so I bolted.
Maybe a G2 but not for the 1998 G1 with no software...??

Re: SC Six-String
450 is a good price imo.Maybe try to get him a tad lower.

For the G1, you can find the software needed, and there's even a pretty good freeware editor, oddly enough. Then there's some 20,000 patches in a .zip somewhere on electro-music.com, too.
Btw, The G2 also adds DX-7 modules/ patch that people wrote a converter (so it'll convert DX7 patches and turn them into G2 patches ).

Re: SC Six-String
I have a question here.
The Flexor sample delay module seems to work different from the one in the NMG2.
How come?

Re: SC Six-String
I think "technically" a sample delay is the same as a feedback module, but in reality they're not? Tgsgs might have a better understanding.
