Why? I think he is saying: "don't complicate yourself too much with the many choices, get one, don't lose your time, because they are going to be pretty much the same after all". I think this is true; differences between the big names are small, you can do pretty much the same with all of them. So I think it is an intelligent statement instead.

I have used EZ Drummer for several years and for a few months now, also Addictive Drums, and with both soft-drums I really am capable of making up amazing drum tracks.

In the other hand, I process and make up my own samples sometimes, when I need a special effect or need a particular kick, etc., it’s not that difficult.

Eventually, when a snare does not match entirely, lucking bite or some other characteristic the song needs, I use two snares, one for the bottom and middle EQ spectrum and another one for the high EQ spectrum. The final result is bigger than life and it sounds like a million dollars drum set.

My point is that there are many fast and simple ways to solve drum tracks problems, that’s why I agree that the main point is getting one of these great soft drums and go on making music

but in the end, you have some sounds. can you make music?
