Re: Win7 32bit install and crackles

Looks like I have the same problem - very occasional but v annoying crackles on the wave drivers using upgrade to scope 5.1 on new Win7 Install - done ALL the tweaks - bollox
[Asus P5q Pro mobo]
Now this is quite weird because using XP and scope 4 I had crackles on the wave drive input [recording] and no problems with wave driver output [playback]
There is a workaround of sorts for playback through the asio drivers instead using the wonderful
FOOBAR2000 PLAYER if you also download the optional ASIO component then you can have an audio player using the rock solid ASIO drivers.
[There is also an ASIO Window Media Player Plugin from sourceforge [for videos] but havent tested it yet]
And of course routing all recording using the ASIO modules instead of the Wave ones.
Anyway I will have to upgrade my mobo in the near futurish - and will have to make sure I get one that has no problems as it seems Asus do.
So I can work around this problem for the moment
