well, it is both, i have setup a google drive file so people can download while they wait, but i also burn and send a dvd snail-mail, and on it i put a bunch of bonuses like some of my releases and other things.

Don Airey's subsonic Hammond antics were second to none last night, rotored overdrive, thundering church organ overlayed with mini-moog soloes, everything was there and the purps gave their all for the millionth time.

Technically the show was brilliant.

Unfortunately, as with Journey. one thing spoiled the show for many.

Why oh why do they need to drive audiences to ear plugging with jaw tugging decibel overkill ? Journey were the worst offenders (or their house engineers) with no dynamic variety at all - just 100 MPH decibels all the way. In the last half hour we sat with about 50 - 60 other punters outside in the foyer (where the volume was lower), waiting for 'Smoke on the Water' (one of very few classics played) then go home.

These players have obvious finesse. Shame its spoiled by dynamic overkill, and Ive seen many rock acts at the same venue over the last 2 decades work superbly without it.

Gigs seem to be getting louder and louder don't they? In this day and age of Health & Safety and sueing I'm surprised it still goes on.

It has become so ridiculous that I have been to gigs where the band are wearing in-ears or earplugs, the audience are wearing earplugs and the sound guy is wearing earplugs! All the bar staff and security already wear earplugs - who the fuck is the volume for?

We should all just turn it down a little.

I was going to so many gigs in my twenties that I (thankfully) bought some proper moulded 'musicians' earplugs with 15dB filters, allowing you to still hear rather than get the muffled effect from regular earplugs. Often I find the mixes have more clarity when I'm not being overwhelmed by shear volume.

Yes. Gigs are too loud, maybe to boost earplug sales.

But on a seperate matter I got to borrow the Leslie for a demo, and
I A/B'd it with my Motion-Sound Pro3 and Pro3t. Using the Modular
Ring Modulator as an extra boost, my days of searching are over.
I have every hard edged sound I can think of from Uraih Heep to ELP,
Deep Purple, you name it. And FWIW the B2003 is the only emu that
gets that Tarkus Persussion sound Dead On Balls accurate.
I am in Heaven.

For anyone wondering about why Juergen made such an impressive high
quality Headphone Out, I think it was a tribute to the German Physicist
Gerg Simon Ohm. The Ohmage and quality are the best headphone out
I ever owned. I use it for IEMs, and even the Leslie Rotary Cabinet now.

This still leaves me the ADATs, which I have the 2 mono price converters
for so I can take a great sounding FX Pedal, which is Analog, and convert
it to ADAT which really makes it sound even better, and I am buying the
Moog 12 Stage Phaser for that as we speak.

Anything routed into Scope can now have a Leslie Rotary Cabinet, Moog 12
Stage Phaser......All I/Os are used, including the virtual ones, and all MIDI.

Here's the latest Project. Lots of FAT-IIs, AUX Delay, STW Inverse for Horn
Sections, and STW Plate, just because it's the baddest Ass Plate we will
ever see. Warp69 should really do a video tutorial for it and sell them for
20 skins a pop.

My rig sounds so muphikin' bad it's just sick, and as the infamous at0m
always says,.........less is mo'. Check out the DSP Meter. An XITE-1 D could
have done the job.

The Yamaha Motiff's will be killed, and the Receptors will be punished severly.

The video should have Warp in a white coat explaining science with you dressed like Rick Wakeman playing interweaving Solaris ribbon riffs underpinning everything he says. The show girls come on at the end look like they are going for you but walk right past and go for the scientist, just for some irony. For closing credits you've run several plates in series and parallel as background segues to grand canyon.

Yeah just found out the Studio 12 will be shipped here within 60 days, as long as it sounds like the Walnut 147 I demo'd I'll be in Heaven. I think these will sell like hot cakes.

You just can't get these sounds digitally, and when someone gets close, just going up or down in the keyboard/frequency range reveals the false digital footprint.
But if they can widen the range of authenticity say from 2 - 3 octaves, to span 61 notes that's the real goal they should concentrate on.

Well the new pedal is digital (and has a 'dead-on-balls' Walnut 147 sim), so a competitor for the vent, if on the name only. Anyone seen a price fr this mofo piece ?

Over at KC they mentioned it´s mainly a guitar stompbox and not really on par w/ the vent.
Might be true, but you´re a guitar player, so it´s for you for sure.

Yeah looks sic tho....the reason plug has a woody finish but the Leslie pedal would give a genuine woody on looks, sound and name


I really like the Reason Selig Rotor sim though because with the mod wheel you can have really fine control over the speed, unlike the Scope one which seems to be able to only be slow and fast with minimal control in settling on any speed in between.

im doing a kawai k3 /dss1/dw6000/8000/ms2000

its got 2 multisample osc a crossfade mixer

im copying the same type synths params as the k3 and dss1 and its derivatives

it will have the 31 wavetables of the k3 and the 64 dwgs additive wave system from the dss1 and dw and ms2000 which has all 64

these were originally created on the dss1 and dsm1 sampler synths

im also going to add all draw bar registrations as wavetables

as the k3 and dss1 can create these with there additive engines

they are all going to be in 32khz as im going to record them from the k3 into the dss1 in 12bits

and all the dwgs are 12bit samples when you sample dump these they become 16bits but are actually only 12bit data as the last 4 bits are just 0

they will have 15 multisamples per multisample as thats the max of the dss1

i am also going to add analog synth noise sample that comes from the analog synths its not loud but it adds that grit warmth that analogs have

now im going todo a rotary on this using lfo and panning circuits then going to 2 tube mdls per channel this will be for the organ drawbars so that you can dial in the actual wavetable from its 080808886 number sequences
as you can have 2 osc then you can have 2 different registrations and use polyphonic pressure to morph from one to the other and the same pressure can be applied to the lfo speed

also jimmy the ring mod how is that wired as there is 2 inputs are you doing a feed back from the audio out back into the ring mod with the other being feed by the synth

as i could implement that also

theres a switching module that sharc just made for switching inputs and outputs like algo

so that the 3 fx types from the originals can be switched in and out

second is a pair of separate delay lines that can be parallel or serial and theirs 2 lfo that can modulate the delays

the third fx is a dual chorus for fx like the juno series the switching is type 1 chorus which is a slow modulated chorus

type 2 is a fast modulated chorus

and both which switches both on and fast and slow are mixed

all controllable via \14bit cc and vst control and hardware control via bcr2000

i should be finished up soon as i have to impliment these switching modules

I LIKE 2 buttons,- 1 for fast/slow and the other for stop and I like it being duplicated w/ ft.-switches.
Now, when it comes to the adjustments of chorale and fast speed as also ramp-up and ramp-down times,- most clones offer adjustments according to the limits and differences of real Leslie cabs.
It´s all about authenticity.
That will be the case w/ the H/S Leslie stompbox you mentioned above too.
I expect it to be a derivate of the leslie sim of the H/S SK models w/ HiZ input for guitar-pickup levels.

I´m able to control most of the Dynacord DLS300 parameters in wide ranges over MIDI and in realtime,- that´s why I kept it.
You can do doppler FX not being associated w/ a real leslie.
It´s a good piece of gear for guitar too and together w/ a instrument preamp like the Chandler Tube Driver rack.

Some great sounds in that audio clip b.t.w. !

I know its not authentic to have more than slow and fast, but thats the case with many emu's of classics that extend beyond the original. Since I never had original Leslie, I start from my taste in musicality even authentic or not. It uses the mundane old Reason 14 channel mixer for drawbars - but works and since I don't have a working footpedal(s) then mod wheel is my best choice for speed control in realtime.

IMHO the demo has too much percussion click but you can turn that down as well, everything can be controlled via midi eg the treble rotor pulley settings.

Really, for $35 I don't think you can beat easily this value for money. At that price you can more or less consider it as good as free.

Yeah...this is why the Motion Sound Pro3's were pretty popular and I drug mine back from the dead.
The Leslie Studio 12 should be here in a month according to the gal at Hammond.
If I don't like it I still have a darn decent sound, and that's what's important.
We have a fine emu of the B3, not perfect but the drawbar swells I use avoid the only shortcomings of the B2003 and once it's dirtied up with Dynomic/Saws and Ring Mod patch it get's juicy, the way I like it.
Other choice is a 147 and SK-1....but I like the SpaceF swells, Leslie Studio 12, B2003 and Modular. Much cheaper, sounds just as good and can be stuffed in my trunk...
