yes, that's correct - those Thinkpad PSUs only apply to the old blue units
they will most likely DAMAGE the A16 ultra(!)
for the Ultra you just need a 12V Transformer, probably 3A
use a torroid one and mount it into a proper box if the wall wart annoys you.
the cheapest option is to buy a small lamp for halogene bulbs 2nd hand
(or in supermarket)
remove the light stuff and keep only the foot
