theirs been lots of new activity with modules

that's being done with the old sdk

and the edition of these makes the modular great

for me the emu 4 ultra was a great modular sampler synth

with the edition of the new multisample osc we are one step closer in realizing the same type of modular design

and the dsp is proven

the kurzweil kseries in 1990 did the first type of dsp structures in a modular type format called vast

and the multisample osc allows me to make the same type of flows

a preset waveshaper would be a great item theres a lot of dsp modules on that synth that i would love to see in the modular

and some nice transfer function type filters so that real analog filters and there faults can be mapped through pulse recordings all possible in math and dsp

what i like about modular is that thee are many modules not available in hardware modular modules

and the ability of easy polyphony

on hardware you need lots of modules of the same type to achieve the same and a wiring nightmare to accomplish what is easy on the modular

im having lots of fun with new instruments with totally new content never heard before and it knocks the socks of off omnisphere

for content and quality of sound

If you are a fan of all things Modular, you really ought to find the cash to pick up Modular IV from sonic-core.net, and Flexor 3 from adern.com.

And to top off the experience, the wonderful and inexpensive Expert Sleepers Silent Way VST Plugin suite can be used to send sample-accurate CV as Audio Signals to Scope Modular over ASIO. This removes the requirement to control Modular with 7-bit Midi CC, and if you happen to have any CV-controllable outboard, with a simple rectifier circuit you can send CV from your Audio Interface...

t_tangent is right. My main interest is the Modular IV.
I am into research and design of new architectures in this field.
So I'm reading everything can get about the M IV at the moment.
My fingers are itching. To bad there isn't a Demo version like
Clavia has of the NMG2.
(I think S|C has one for internal use )

And for controlling Modular, check the Silent Way links above. As dawman said, audio-rate modulation of Modular, there's the rub! It is as he said, some 13 years later (a veritable lifetime in tech terms), building Modular in such a way that now we have effective CV control of those same modules today.... again, Creamware engineers 'got it right'...

I like thoe multiplexed feedback delays

well ill be glad to see your preset waveshaper module as there is not one in scope as of yet

and what makes the z3ta synth great as it easy to just change a sound by the waveshapers

there are several of them and you can adjust each one and the wave form is then transformed in the wave show window

but still no real time control of amount which i would like to see as changing the waveshape over time would make it a wavetable source

also check out the bc modular as its got 14bit cc control for 256 level which makes the control smoother and

many modules to choose from

roy thinnes are great modules as are the flexor3 mod4 is ok for the cz type osc and the filters and the dual stereo switches which make great modulation switches for choosing different am fm type switches with 1 switch

where as you have to use 2 switches other wise

blackboII are a good set of modules also

but a lot of the community does not have mod4 or flexor3

so they wont be able to try your mod 4 designs

for my own modules ill use flexor and mod4

but from now on when releasing to the community i use whats freely available mod2/mod3/bc modular/cwmodular/and many other free modules

so that every one can get in on it

cant wait to hear your experiments in the scope platform

This is why audio, as a modulation source is crucial. If we all get Silentway Suite 2.2, and start posting at Muff Wiggler, we might get the developer to fix the overlooked Pedal control that it lacks.
He is too busy with more succesful hardware I think, but strength is in numbers.
Can't believe he has 2 great reviews, which he deserves, but SoS and Computer Music reviewers obviously don't use pedals very much.

I've never heard of this. HDMI is for graphics and audio streams.

It throws stuff out of the out, and if there is audio return, it will eat audio flushed back at it. It does not communicate much back and forth as far as I know. Xite using HDMI is - as I understand it - only a way to get a high bandwith easily replaceable cable.

At this moment I don't have a clou what to expect from the expresscard and this new laptop, Better wait till I have everything in and go to the store then. Shame to sell it. Its fast and very light. So handy when traveling.

If it has an express card slot, you can likely use it with your Xite.
