I wouldn't worry, the UN always jumps in to help Africans by waiting until they're all dead, then the problem is over.

so you'd want a more adequate UN with more competences?

Personally, I loved the way Bono and Bush sidestepped those slow moving tortugas.
Anyone with power, should just send in the teams, and take these fools out, No bragging rights, no newspaper, just assasinations as these are evil humans, with Hussein and the Ayatollahs we know they were all x partners, so who knows the real truths, but Kony kills when he wants and the whole sex slave and childrens army, and his devotion to some God he seems to have a personal relationship with, means death would be a favor to him and the world.
The UN passes a warrant to bring him to trial, and that's suppose to be the word of so many powerful nations...?
I'd prefer if the UN would stop pretending they are useful and start showing it by putting a 25 million dollar bounty on this jigaboo's head. Since they cant even pay their parking ticlets in NYC I assume we would pay for it. But after the failed social programs we have for trillions, what 25 large....??
You know actually we usually agree on the important stuff, the end result.
My methods are more realistic, as when I go hunting if I come back without a Kill, and it has happened, I am useless and my family eats fake processed meat. I always get the Pheasant, CHuckerbird and Trout.
But Elk is the bomb.
I see the UN as a place for the elites to talk as that can avoid conflicts as long as people are talking, but as far as action........I prefer more direct methods, but these days we have started so many wars, I am to the point of shame.
At least my ancestors fought noble wars for a cause. Vietnam was the beginning of the industrial powers trying out new gear and killing people in the name of Humanity. I have seen enough of these wars where we must attack because someone is being bad. But children.,that seems to hit me harder than rebels seeking weapons to kill the guys they dont like.

There are ongoing problems around the world that still need attention - such Haiti, etc.
A really BACKWARDS world....
Mwa, I share your concern about the world, but the world is also full of protests against everything you can name.
Even a doubtful arrest doesn't change this so much.

This guy must gone crazy somehow, the motivation to get the documentary done must have had its roots.
Yet you can't expect him not to be arrested, if he did what he did in public.

Important is that his clip got mega attention all over the world, which isn't backwards but forwards.

Clooney knew what he did, probably a matter of consciously committing trespassing to get the publicity he was after, look him smile on the picture.
Suggesting big brother is eliminating the opponent is quite naive or highly tendentious.
In fact that's what I don't like so much of the conspiracy lovers: they create so easy their own truth from lose facts.

Concerning Haiti, it was in the news, I saw some firm news items on dutch tv at least.
A structure of sovereign nations obviously is not really suited to 'solve' those kind of troubles, let alone severe conflicts as in Syria now.

It took Europe 140 years to have almost every country of the continent in a state of parliamentary democracy (if one forgets about the evil elite for a moment).

So give the world a break I'd say.

A reasonable historical perspective should take steps of at least 50 years to see some change,
The transition from co-operating but pure sovereign nations with each a voice and some a veto, to some form of democraticly controlled authority for 'international affairs and human rights' will need some time, you and I won't see it happen yet.

I believe NATO to be more credible than the UN. The UN is a joke and an insult to Americans as we have to tolerate these clowns and their programs that seem to be the epitamy of nepotism.
NATO is a response to tyranny, and the UN is a country club for the status quo and it is controlled by elites who have never served their country but rather extracted wealth from it. At least NATO is run by people who have at least served and put themsleves in harms way.
I have hope for the world, but we still need 200 years to evolve, until then Peace through Superior Firepower, and that's only until someone has more firepower than you.
Plus just look at how many we employ trying killing kill each other. Only second to the Health Care industry so we can save maybe 25-40% of the mangled, who for some strange reason still think their service to the elites, that can't possibly be expected to be in such barbaric activites, was a just cause.

But your optimism is appreciated but I always think of Chamberlain. Which then reminds me of Pearl Harbor, so I doubt I will ever have faith in these elites or the appeasers, maybe my youngest son will grow and watch his chidren play without having to worry they might be brainwashed into fighting for the guys behind the curtain...

You have the right idea, just too impractical for me to agree with. Comes from generations of family members I never met or will ever see again. A compromised outlook.

Chamberlain. Lol. Love that scene of him returning from Berlin waving the peace decree he signed with Hitler. He thought he was Hitlers mate - well IL Duce Mouse-alini was the closest thing Hitler had to a mate apart from his dog who he poisened. Pearl just gave FDR (and Truman) the mandate they always wanted. During FDR's funeral the Japanese Emporer actually acknowledged his passing whilst the Nazi elite thought it was a sign from providence as Jugs and Mustangs ruled the european skies and the Shermans rolled over the Ruhr.

With power comes dillusion (unless you really do have the bigger gun).
