Korg KRONOS Workstation

Well…, I’m coming really late to this one, but it doesn’t matter, because it is, nevertheless, about “KRONOS”, the holder of time…

I have NEVER heard or SEEN a better workstation than this one… If I did not have a completely different way of working, this amazing beast would be in my list of “must have” elements in this life.

You should be proud to be part of such an amazing breakthrough in technology, sound quality, versatility, playability and everything else.

KRONOS is a milestone like no other in this field!

Anyway, I don’t know what the future may hold for me in terms of music creation and technology needs, so I may still get one of those.

I am not surprised it took so many years to be build.

There are quite a few others that are following you now, but you can hold the warm feeling of having been the first in history for an unprecedented instrument to do it all, in all styles of music, and all being at the top of the range, this is too much to say!

As always, technology marches apace and competition is fierce.
Often, one day's accomplishments and breakthroughs are the next day's old news.
It's nice to see KRONOS increasingly being used on stage, TV performances, etc. I recently got a chance to see an awesome Peter Gabriel live performance (Back to Front tour), where he was using several KRONOS on stage. We're continuing to work on and improve the technology, and the project continues to fill my days

John, it´s great to know you´re part of the Kronos team !

When Kronos came out, I was very sceptical because it uses stock Intel mobo and Atom dual core processor, but it seems it´s a reliable machine and road/touring prooved meanwhile, even there were the keybed issues w/ 73 and 88 key weighted actions for a period of time.
I hope that changed permanently now.

Are you involved in the MIDI engine software ?

I played some KORG stuff over the decades and always like the easyness of Combination Mode we also find in Kronos.
Actually I wonder if Kronos is able to merge MIDI from MIDI input and route both,- incoming MIDI and local MIDI info,- to dedicated external MIDI zones as well as pass-thru incoming MIDI (from MIDI In) to MIDI Out by using dedicated external MIDI zones and re-channelize the incoming MIDI info incl. MIDI CCs, this not only for 1 ext. MIDI zone but multiple ones.

It´s all about connecting a 2nd MIDI keyboard, transmitting MIDI on only 1 MIDI channel, to Kronos MIDI IN, then trigger several MIDI devices in a rack (or synth devices running on XITE-1 p.ex.) not only from Kronos´ local keyboard but the external keyboard only or both and by user programmable multiple zones / Combi slots for outgoing MIDI only incl. MIDI filtering and controller mapping across multiple MIDI channels.

The background of my question is,- I have these features in my KURZ PC361 in Setup-Mode, but it has a synth action (not fully weighted) w/ 61-keys only and I don´t want another Kurz PC3X or PC3K model in addition.
