Obviously possible with MIDI.
Key sig. is relative since it could be modal - but as long as the intervals are there, then with a matrix it's possible to move the key around based on perceived tonics, etc.
i.e. is it Dmin., or F major?

Tempo change should be handled by the host sequencer.

Interesting discussion.
If these applications could be used as tools in composition I welcome them.
But I am afraid this software will become just another generic, convenient approach to a 7-11, Circle K style of compostition, where the " composer " will never really learn music, or how to sight read under pressure.
Instead of computers as supplemental tools for advancement, they only seem to raise a new entire class of convenience orientated music.
I will buy such applications and make them identify what Scale that JayZ used in his last great rap song that made millions.
You know I was thinking how plageristic all this Gangsta Rap stuff really is.
The evil " N " word is used along with bitches, and Ho's in every sentance.
It was the White Southern Racists who invented the evil " N " word back in early 19th Century, so even there we see examples of plagerism.

I've been known to use them when working on projects that require working in some style that's outside my wheel-house - like ragtime, or egyptian folk music, etc. Once I 'reverse engineer' the structures, then I'm OK. They're ultimately just tools - not an end-all.
