Hey Cochise ,
you're the guy that lives by the sea right with all the noise from the beach . Have you had a lot of sea mist lately ?? It's as salty as buggery you know , no good for cars ,no good for seldom used electrics and probably no good for contacts either . Maybe chuck a couple of those little silica dehumidifier bags in there if you get her going again and put her in big plastic bag when you not using it . I used to live right on the beach down here and our teevee used to take 5 minutes to get focused every night in the sumer. That salt is bastard because it never lets things dry properly once it's got things coated. Just a thought

@ Gary: Thank you, that should be fine; let me check if I can arrange things in my room to host the two keyboards... I already have some idea in mind...
Let me even check the local dealer; I already asked him a month ago and he said he would have the keyboard repaired for me; I'll try to ask again for the strips only. I'm anyway afraid about the shipment charge from the States...

@ skawks: Saltness in the air could be an issue. Another issue could be dampness from breath, considering the gear stays in my bedroom; I don't use to smoke inside there though. Maybe I should put silica dehumidifier bags into the keyboard chassis... Actually I wouldn't be that happy taking out keyboard, cabling it and then putting the things away every time, considering I use it as MIDI interface too. I created a large drawer under the desk to host MIDI keyboard, almost like sometimes we do with computer keyboards (btw looks like these ones last more, or not? Probably we're less heavy on them...) I usually keep it covered to avoid dust, but that is not enough against humidity. Maybe I should try putting a large towel on the cover...
If you do some websearch about PCR-25-50-80 dead keys though, you'll find lot of these issues...
