There are some great video demos on the Spectrasonics website Jimmy - well worth a look, if only to see Eric's expression as he demos some of the sounds.
Sorry if I made you homesick but most people don't look at the scenery in that photo - they admire me .
As I type, I've got 2 Trilian patches (ARP's) called Tangerine Stepper that I've modified, running through autopans etc with tron strings & choirs and Polymoog brass lead. Oh I think I've just turned into Chris Franke
Going back to Lake Taho and the pic of me Jimmy:
I have friends who've been to Tahoe & said just how beautiful it is. I'd love to go but I'm scared of flying, so it's too far to paddle across the Atlantic.
The mountains in the background of that photo are the Cairngorms, near Aviemore in Scotland. The tops are just over 3000 ft (Google Munros). Interestingly, that photo is a special place. You can't see them because they're too far away, but on the slopes behind me is the only herd of reindeer in the UK. They're really nice & gentle and let you hand feed them.
Come December they hit the road all over the UK to pull sleighs for Santa at RAF, Army bases and such like, so they do a great job too. I think on our website we have some shots of them. We biked one day and there they were happily grazing where we planned to stop for lunch, so we just sat amongst them for an hour - one of those special moments in life.
When they walk, their feet click, so that in Lapland when they're in a white-out, the ones behind know where to go. And they walk in such a fashion that their back feet step where their front feet have been, to save mauling too much in deep snow. They can cope with temperatures down to -60 and can't be spotted by thermal imaging cameras when they lie down in the snows - not bad energy efficiency eh?
Anyway, I digress - it must be a huge change for you to be in Tahoe & Vegas - what a difference!
