I just did the activation and it worked without having to edit the registry. Some people can do it this way.

I like the "friend has an MSDN account" price myself.

So far so good. The memory dumps are taking longer but the convolution reverb in the piano now works. Further testing is needed. I was 90% happy with RC2 which is the best rating I could give any Microsoft OS to date.

Where's the headlines for the bit where Apple says you need to own Leo to use their $20 Snow Leopard upgrade (which can be clean installed as well)?

I was happy with Vista on my system. Things always get a little better. I heard Snow Leopard wasn't that great.
