That's the video I did at NAMM.

I already mixed out half the noise. It's a miracle you can even hear Gary talk.

That video shows nothing exept a few windows and some facts that are readable from the website. Its not bad but they need a video that shows what you can do.
Imo
You should go for it. :D
I agree they need a better video, but I presume they don't have time or resources to do it.
I know that I haven't had time to do another video. Been having too much fun.

ok, let's assume the software is already stable enough, so I would be fine with it as it is, but the missing express card is something I consider a real showstopper. it makes xite an unfinished product...

Without the expresscard does make xite unfinished. Being able to connect xite to a laptop is definitely a part of what makes it really special. I'm hoping S|C release expresscard cable in the very near future. I won't actually need it for awhile myself but i can see some people who buy xite without expresscard connection getting a bit angry if its not released 'soon' (i think the new word is 'upcoming' } . For the potential customer who is looking to primarily be a laptop musician i can see it being a showstopper aswell not having that connection available.

The Xite that was running at NAMM (seen in the video) was running on a laptop, and I actually TOUCHED the PCI-e cable - so it DOES exist - and that was JANUARY. My assumption is that there is a cable length consideration being worked out.

I even know who manufactures the card and modifies the stock firmware for special use with xite, but that doesn't help...
didn't somebody say they ran an express card that hosted the pcie card (something like a converter) at NAMM? you may have touched the cable, but did you see the real xite expresscard? did anybody see that card? gary, maybe? ;)

I don't recall seeing any converter box or adapter.
I only recall a conversation with the gents re: cable length considerations and robust-ability.
Maybe Gary can clarify.

maybe I remember that from somewhere else, but I could swear it was related to xite...

if cable lenght was really an issue, it would be with the pcie-card as well (imho). since that setup is working, I would assume there is another caveat especifically related to express card slots (that might be the point where robust-ability might come into play...).
Maybe Gary can clarify.
I'd appreciate that :)

so you are right Marcus
it was stated from the beginning that there will be an express card option for xite. personally, I would have expected it to be available with the launch of xite, but obviously that didn't happen.
"upcoming" is just the new buzzword for "soon" :D (not my original idea, but, damn, I like it ;) )

yeah, i think that a robust connector is part of the issue. there was a stock expresscard with an adaptor on it at NAMM. don't worry. haven't you noticed that these guys actually do stuff? this isn't post-insolvency Creamware at work, these guys are for real. barring financial ruin or other acts of God, they're going to get it done.

gary, I'm not afraid of them not getting things done. I just tend to believe (although my name is not thomas) in things I can actually touch (provided it is some piece of electronics ;)).
it would be just another milestone for me to know they're shipping the express cards. I do not actually doubt they're coming.

sure, belief isn't necessary.

just know they're working on it.

just yesterday I got a newsletter announcing the "new spl td5", a product I bought in the shop almost 2 months ago... 8)
no offense, but that information was more than just overdue. I just hope they can put some more manpower on this when things are finished (another reason for me wanting things being finished ;))
