Somebody check on the RHODES PIANO too if you get some spare time.

I'm guessing that we'll have the one slip at least another year... :(

true, if i had known that we would be talking and that i would see the XITE, i might have been more prepared(but for a guy who used to have his own darkroom and took pictures for the school paper i sure don't take pictures much. i think it's a dislike of being burdened with more things and photographic stuff, even though i love cameras and all the gadgets connected, go figure...)

btw- i must say i was very impressed with Holger and Jurgen's attitudes about wanting to hear ideas to improve Scope(i'm not saying to bombard them with requests, but i am saying that they are interested). they ARE listening to people's opinions. i think that if v5 and XITE do well, we'll see many of the things that people are asking for, and relatively quickly(there's a limit to how fast certain things can be done, naturally). i still haven't seen v5 yet, so i can't really say anything about what has been changed, improved or remains the same.

Did you notice if there are 64-bit drivers for Scope?

Everybody wants their G-D 64-bit drivers - GEEZ, already  :D :)

It's one of the first things I'll ask them - OK???

Greg

p.s. ask all the supposed 64-bit sample library people what rate they are really sampling at. Then ask them why their programs require so much overhead.

Greg, You don't understand. Having 64-bit drivers has nothing to do with the sample rate. It's about having more RAM. A 32 bit OS has a limit of less than 4 gigs of RAM. That was not enough for me. RAM is cheap. I see how you got confused and why you said it doesn't matter though. It is slightly confusing.

i'm betting that 64bit drivers aren't available yet, that that will be next and very soon after XITEs and Solaris' begin shipping.

Thanks,

Any idea when? I assume this will require Scope 5.

no, and i don't think anyone CAN give a true time table, sorry.

all i can speak to is Holger and Jurgen's history of action. in the past, they have been very responsible and dilligent. i don't think they'll make people wait out of spite, but the code must be written and i don't know what technical issues might arise...
