i am building a DAW around my macbook pro and i can tell you that ,by now ,you always have to get an audio interface + dsp based plugins which is quite boring because it will need firewire and-or express card. And then what about the external HD ???

Xite seems the best idea as it combines DSP power, many synth and fx and converters + in-outs options available ... and 2 preamps... If Xite is stable and reliable, I bet this concept will be the winning one

Ah, so everything is on hold until Jan 20th 2009 then ? Okay Santa, what are the alternatives?
I have worries about Sonic Core in the current economic climate and my thought for the day is................
Keep a good off-site backup of your rgy files !!!

this is always a good advice, regardless of the economic situation of S|C.

The right price for an outstanding product should bring about sales even within economic gloom

Well, unfortunately, the demise of any conceivable release date for XITE has resulted no sale for me. I've waited as long as I could with the stereo line-out jack in my Mac Pro, but a recording project is coming up and I'm going to need multi-channel mic inputs ASAP. So, I'm going to get RME's RayDAT for use with my A16U and Mackie Onyx 800R. Sorry, Sonic|Core. I wish you luck with your new products, but you've failed to deliver once again and I'm going to have to move on.
I'll still fire up a MiniMax or two with the Scope cards in my old PC DAW occasionally, but by and large my CreamWare days will be over.
The good news is that the money I won't be spending on XITE can go to a new, phatt Solaris HW at some point. That'll be awfully fun -- doesn't it come with Prophet and Moog oscillators and filters??? (That'll replace XITE in any case -- too bad it's not multi-timberal.)
I'm really disappointed in the way things have turned out, but we all know it's not my fault.

If Ralf or someone else could provide us with some other answer other than "soon," I might change my mind.

Why don't they make a public beta?
Doing so, we could know some more and continue to *believe* and they'll get feedback from volunteer testers about problems still to fix...
...just an idea

Hey Guys,
NAMM is just around the corner and all of SC's competitors come here looking for information that could give them an edge with their late/unfished products. They are all in the same Boat.
To Ralf & the Seiburg clan, trickery is their weapon,.....illusion, a way of life.
This forum is their free advertisement for when the XITE-1 is released.
All of the pissing & moaning we do now will be buried in the database underneath all of the exciting posts when they release it. I am sure they do not want a forum full of angry complaining customers, but rather the happy successful experiences people are having with it.
Origin, UAD 2 and others have released their products and forums are full of people having compatability issues amongst other problems. They will be avoiding that scenario.
SC obviously knows their window of oppurtunity will begin closing right before or after NAMM '09. I believe they will rise to the occasion.
Perhaps a simultaneous release of Solaris and XITE-1 is what's on the table.
In that case I'll take both....ankyuvarymush.

I don't know about that. CreamWare/Sonic|Core has typically never appeared at NAMM, only MusikMesse. If they're waiting for the next trade show to release XITE, I just can't wait that long.
I hope it works really well for you guys!

They do not have to be there to compete.
It's the dealers and rags that do the reviews.
The fact that they are in our midst here, will give them the information to carry to the show.
You can only imagine someone at the Arturia booth going " Yeah, that sounds pretty good, but have you heard the XITE-1 yet "........
Since they are tight w/ a buck when it comes to marketing, this is a sound approach using the Z.
But of course, I am an optimistic person.
My live use will be a great demo as up in Tahoe there are several famous people w/ large facilities here, Jim Gamble is only one of many.
In Vegas there are also many venues and studios, but it seems like everyweek I go to another studio here where many SSL and Neve hardware mixers are abundant. Our bassist is a well known engineer, so mostly word of mouth brings out the reclusive folks.
Many are shocked at my DSP mixers, effects and monitoring capabilities.
Just wait till they see all of this done w/ a laptop ans 4U !!
I wish you well Shayne, you are young and gifted, your site is also Pro level IMHO.
You'd be a dangerous Bastard w/ Solaris or XITE-1, and Rapture as well.
PEACE.

Hi Shayne,
While I haven't made the official announcement yet (I guess this would be the 'unofficial' one), Sonic Core will be sharing my booth at NAMM 2009. Our booth number will be 1121.
cheers,
john b.

Hi John,
Its absolutely awesome that both you and Sonic Core are present at NAMM 2009.
Will you show an allmost finished version?

Thats great news!!
It would have been awesome, if I could go to NAMM 09, but it will cost me $3000.

Martin just sell me your Bricasti M7 for 3 large......................
That's great news that SC will be going to NAMM.
Solaris & XITE-1 are going to steal the show.

JohnnyB.....are you sure about 1211?........what about 1121

.
I'm coming, the VAX77 is next to you, and I will bring Scope4live Jr. as Magix is behind you and down one section.
Tell Holger to bring more than a couple of production models w/ him, I ain't leavin' w/o one.
Your choice of the Booth Babe Grace is a great idea too.
Hell you oughta let me take a Solaris over to the huge Roland booth and set it up and scream. By the time they figure out I am not from Roland, I'll drag 'em back over to 1121.
