Re: UAD2
It was only about a coupla months or so ago that the UAD user base was canvassed with a questionaire about what features they would like to see in a new product.darkrezin wrote:Or is everything speculation so far?
I reckon this product is not even close to being ready.
Talk about speculating about the speculation.

Anyway, don't need one, don't want one.
I want a dobro.
At the moment.
Subject to change.
Wonder how much the UAD2 will cost.
Don't want one, don't need one.
Repeat, don't want one, don't need one.

Re: UAD2
The Roland Space Echo is one of their top plugins imo, it sounds beautiful. There usually is video's and audio-demo's for the uad plugins on the UA website.
I think the new Nevanna 32 UAD-2 means it will run 32 instances of Neve 88rs Channelstrip but i and others could be wrong. If that is true then the new Solo card would be about 3 and a half times more powerful then the old UAD-1 card wich only ran 9 instances of Neve 88rs Channelstrip. Ofcourse the duo, and quad cards means serious power. I know many users who love their most power eating plugins like 33609 Bus compressor are going to be insanely-happy when the new cards arrive. I'm hoping i can recover quickly from XITE-1 purchase cause i'd love to buy into the uad platform again, especially with the new powerful cards comming and all the great current discounts and soon to be released plugins. There recently was a couple music-stores that had all the new uad-2 cards listed and had them for preorders, they advertised prematurely and shortly removed them (Musiciansfriend/ Guitar center).

Re: UAD2
i think it looks really promising! it almost makes me want to buy one!!
I really like the way UAD have been handling the whole PR thing... they even have a video on their website now with a short presentation!
I wish SC would do the same.... like updating their site a little more often etc.
oh well...
But i really think xite has got a competetor now!! and a cheaper one ( less powerfull, i know.. but still cheaper!)
AND it has onboard memory!
AND you can tweak the parameters realtime without the zipper noise
AND it is PCie
