Nice one - I think that may be wider than my little studio
Anyway - today I bought a Samsung 22" Syncmaster 2232BW widescreen TFT for an exceptionally cheap price (bargain and a long story). Resolution is 1680*1050 with a contrast of 3000:1.
As others have written, I also need to spend time balancing out the sharpness, brightness etc etc.
Hopefully I'll add my wife's old AOC 15" TFT as a second monitor so look out in OT for questions on how to set it up, and loads of stupid questions too, no doubt.
Once again, thanks all for your contributions

I need a faster computer before I can make much use of multiple monitors. But two things caught my eye :
1) The dynamic mixer. Am I the only one who finds the dynamic mixer very unstable? I more or less stopped using it because it would appear to work, then stop making sounds (all the meters would go dead too). I've switched over to XP, maybe it was a bug with my old installation?
2) Asio 1 - I'm thinking that ASIO 1 drivers provide all the functionality I need, and ASIO 2 provides things like direct monitoring, that I don't particularly need? I vaguely recall reading something like this but was not able to find those threads.

2x28" 16:9CRT@1920x1080, 85Hz... 2nd monitor switched to 2nd PC alternatively.
I grabbed these (used, old but pro) things for dirt cheap about 5 yrs ago... when hdtv was anything but affordable, let alone commonly seen.
At 43kgs each, I often wondered if some day I open my studio door to find the table cracked down, flattening my DAW like a marshmallow... but it was just a fear... the table stood fine all the years, even with me standing on it together with the monitors.
