I kinda agree with Tom... Never has creamware asked money for a platform update and didn't generate anything for that hard work, and probably not a lot of people thanked them by buying plugins.
I also understand that 200 euros is pretty steep if you just need a driver. The problem here is, that Scope5 is all new (maybe not 'from the ground up') as I understand, and there is no such thing as a Vista driver for 4.0 or 4.5
Anyway, Creamware is dead and gone. Sonic Core is another company and that's that...

BTW, the only other software I use is ableton Live and they charged money for a Universal Binary version which had nothing new in it. You only got a discount on your next payed upgrade, and boy do they charge for every single upgrade... I joined when at version 1.5 and upgraded all the way to v6 (only skipping v2 as it came out a few months after i got the app), bought their sampler plug on the way, 20% off as a special sale action, and the only free thing i got was a very very very nice key chain... They won't get anymore money from me.
Ask NI users how free their UB versions were...

Just got word from Sonic Core. Version 5 is free when you buy the 3 chip card even though it doesn't come with the paid 4.5 version.

They could sell version 5 and at the same time have a little patch for 4.

You have inside information on 5? It is redesigned from the ground up? Does it work better?

I thought they just added new modules and an ugly white background.

Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to insult people even if they insult me but hopefully someone will send you a PM about this soon. It is totally not acceptable.

as stated by the former posts the update policy was rather generous in the past.
Now it's your (our) turn to give in a bit, SC isn't Creamware anyway and has to make mony.
Totally agree! We have to highlight that point I think. If it would be still the same company (Creamware) I could easily understand braincells point of view in getting just a vista driver without a charge. But SC is a new startup, and yes, they have to make money. And we should support them as we all like to have compatible drivers even in some years when Microsoft will release another new OS after Vista ...

Maybe i misunderstood... I think I have read somewhere in all the pages about the new hardware that there has been done some serious work on the new software version. Certainly no inside information, sorry...
Are you saying there will be a small patch? Written language and language barriers don't do us good at times. could would shall...

you are right borg, thay ARE giviing away new candies for us users that PAID for the 4.5 version which also had wonderful values added like the S&S package or the M&M one, for 98 ridiculous euros. I'm just beginning to get mad at Braincell's negative attitude and propaganda, sorry about that, time to go to bed

To answer a question, when a company buys another company they frequently extend support to the previous customers including driver updates. The older cards still marked "Creamware" include full technical support from Sonic Core. In effect , Creamware is now known as Sonic Core. It's not like Creamware doesn't exist anymore.

They could just as well drop support and cancel the product line allover

forget it piddi, this guy thinks he can walk around these parts calling everybody brown nosers and doesn't accept to get a little change back... somebody give him 200€ so he can get a FREE scope 5 rig and stop bitching around. mmm yeah you're right, that wont stop him anyways

And since when does 'full technical support' include free updates at any rate?
You spared a dime in the past by not getting 4.5, now you have to pay for the next thing.
Bad luck, sometimes you win sometimes you loose.
You're complaining already since 2001 on the subject, which makes clear that you're not discussing a specific situation of today but are showing an attitude througout the years on the (old and new) company as such.
Yet you don't wanne miss the platform...

Btw, Creamware doesn't exist anymore, whatever you say.
Creamware is dead, long live SonicCore :-)
With that 3 DSp card with v.5 you will be fine, SC again looks generous to me...

totally understandable, but as this is a public forum, rules of harassment apply, so its up to the moderators to take a stance to if a users posts are just here to provoke and keep trolling or actually has any meaning at all.

Lets keep it that way, if its totally out of control they sure will put a foot in somewhere :)

agreed. I was beginning to think about creating an off topic braincell FREE scope 5 rig fund thread to remedy his behaviour, but I guess any attemp in doing such a thing will only result into putting oil on a fire. Lets leave it to moderators as you say :)

I must admit braincell is one of the finest trolls I've seen lately... He managed to troll the plugiator FM Magia demo sound thread with his "I want SCOPE 5, a 14 DSP card and the coffee for free" stories.

Congrats braincell! Now, I've a challenge for you.. Do you think you could troll a compleetly non-technical thread on the OT forum too?

Cheers!

Raul
