everything seems possible but not so early as mentionned by Holger D himself (official anoucement) ... Remember a big step should come in 2008 though ... hardware ? Yeeeeeeeeeees for sure (I mean, I am personally convinced) ! Creamware historically combined hard and soft and now scope 5 is almost ready. Furthermore indsp, via useaudio has been able to create a kind of external hardware ; and soniccore has decided not to "follow" this project .. Fro me, it is the evidence something bigger and more pro-oriented is being prepared !!!!

Holger and soniccore own scope technology but they also handle it (remember holger is a former creamware developper !) so there is no doubt they are able to re-create a new hardware ready for the future .... :D

Btw now we have +3600 members and a little amount of ppl usually have interest to post or reply here in z :( I wish all member will participate….. at least in this way SC will understand what we need.
now it looks only jo and myself are interested in powerful hardware.
thanks

for sure I`m interested in a new powerful scopeII card. :D

But aside from that I`m very happy wih my current setup also...

I'm keen on Plugiator as well as the new SONIC CORE v5.
Would be nice if it's possible to integrate the Plugiator into the SFP Platform or into XTC-Mode as well.

Let's see what the future brings ...

to be a powerful system "like Pro Tools HD" would make no sense. We allready have a powerful system like nothing else. It only needs s new chip and a new interface (for gods sake not firewire). And a couple of blue leds to attract new customers.

but I see there is along way to go.
maybe the way isn`t that long.

once they have the basic environment running on the new cards (modular environment) they could port the old stuff step by step (atoms)...

if the new chip is more less code comatible they could even take over most of the stuff and than optimize the atoms step by step...

with the old scope cards they somehow have a complete prototype regarding the atoms and their functions....

the solaris can be a premier step into the right direction, as it is a modular synth also...
I`m pretty sure a new scope card would use the same chips as the solaris platform and through the fact that solaris needs all most important atoms, they already got a good basic stock running on new chips...

so Ì think although the soniccore team is small they could do a scope project.

Another nice fact is that all members are original scope developers and everyone who has ever touch some coding environment knows that it is a huge advantage, if you looking through your own code rather than someone others.

firubbi, i suspect you have little experience with the real world of professional studios in europe or the us. you have powerful equipment already. the only thing scope lacks that protools has, is a dedicated hardware controller. mackie control or a similar protocol would be the closet thing to that, and reasonably priced. the protools hd system starts at some $30-40,000 with said controllers. protools doesn't have anything as cool as the scope environment...

as to newer chips and more powerful cards, i'm sure that that will happen. i wouldn't expect it next month or anything, and i'm also sure that if 3 scope professionals isn't enough for you, then you must be mixing 300 track boolywood extravaganzas. maybe a little less processing would sound a lot better if you're out of dsps and you're mixing say, 40 channels....

maybe you're ready to start adding some topflight hardware to your system....

this is just some thoughts about a comment, not a negative vote towards improvement, i'm all for that!

not to forget if new cards come, soniccore would instantly be the leader in audio technology:

regarding quality they already are imo....

but they also would outperform most other stuff like UAD and powercore which would be extremly underpowered compared to a new scope system...

I mean even our old cards can pretty much hold up against these competitors regarding plug-in load count... :P

yeah and garyB is right, Protools is weak compared to scope.

GaryB, its not necessarily that 3 professional cards isn't enough, i also a question of practicality, and i also suspect production costs. Not to mention the commercial interest generated by such a card.

ah well, for the time being i just have to stick to my lousy 3-card 10DSP setup :)

I sold my UAD expert for that very reason : only few plugins, no flexibility, no additional in/outs.... As many here, I have almost all the Soiniccore plugins and as soon as you mainly use your scope system for mixing + synth, then you ask for more power for sure !

I am in favor of specialization : scope for the converters+plugins, mackie/beringher for contrllers and then my samplitude 10 for seq ... A partnership between samplitude and Soniccore (bundle/packegs...) would beat any competitors !

I thought that UA's bundle was insane and practically piracy the first moment I read about it. Also, to me, Plugiator looks like a rehashed Noah. Frank Hund's business practices have never impressed me, and as we all know he flushed CreamWare down the toilet twice with extremely bad moves. I'm glad he's gone. So far, what I've seen coming from Sonic Core has been far more interesting than InDSP/Use Audio. I'm looking forward to future products from SC, and I hope the new company can make it. I'm totally on their side on this issue.

To new products in 2008,

Shayne

You Betcha.

Frank was just in the mood to put a fire under CS's ass right after their " white paper " release of Scope Vrs. 5.0.

To Soniccore in 2008. :D

Funny thing is after the New Years gig many players wer trying to meet the girls as usual, but many more were interested in the ASB / Kmangbox stuff. They said they never heard of them and wanted to knopw where to buy them. I re directed them to Music 123, where several Klangs still await discovery.

Finally some Creamware hardware of yore might be used in racks of gear in Las Vegas other than me.

I may have missed something here but how exactly do you know that it was Frank that single handedly brought about Creamware's demise!?

I just love my scope system so I just want to feed my DSP with a good scope 5 so too bad for use audio .... My samplitude 10 + scope 4.5 is just a killer system ! :D

Jo
Yeah Samplitude 10 and 4.5 running great here! Not sure I even CARE about 5.0.
Also, despite having 28 years background in hardware engineering, and not being a big fan of Chinese products, I would REALLY appreciate a good, clean cooperative business agreement going forward so that Scope can REALLY prosper.

I REALLY missed not seeing anything Scope at NAMM this year, and look forward to a big presence next year!

For the Sonic Core/Creamware range to survive as a viable alternative in the DSP card market, Sonic Core need to bring out a new card that will actually fit into a good proportion of modern computer cases?

More people than ever are now using their computers to make music but now, with cheap/free/illegal downloads, there is less money than ever to be made from purely just making and releasing your music. So there are now more potential customers for Sonic Core but most of these customers have less money to spend than before the download revolution.

So are smaller, cheaper cards the answer?

probably only with the new powerfull sharcs.
you need space for those guys...
user scale enlargement would be nice for the platform tho :-)

Chinese goods make about 90% of western products now, so pls don't attack China or Far East.
Outsourcing is completely normal. China (and Japan before it) are often attacked, it is natural as the west becomes weaker globally.
The East is rising...

with money from bankers in the west, leveraged on the unknowing people of the west. no, can't be mad a china for that....

Hardly 'unknowing people of the west'. Check out some financial histories, these are global changes, not 'conspiracies'.

I wond want to hijack but regarding "unknowing people of the west" and "some financial histories, these are global changes, not 'conspiracies'" i can just tell you do yourself a favor and go here:

http://zeitgeistmovie.com/

Download free movie, call some of your friends and watch that documentary. There are things inside which you can easily checked by yourself(pretty much all of them). Though first part is about religion (Church fanatics will probably going to be depressed after watching this) part two and especially three is about your money friends! Wish you everything best in your life 8)
