also, you must enable i/o in Cubase.
you MUST close Cubase before making changes to the Asio modules in Scope.

Thanks, closed Cubase added channels and back to work. But now Cubase locks up some times. Could it be the latency? I set the ULLI to 10ms. Or that has nothing to do with Cubase & Scope?

well, it's probably not Cubase/Scope related. i use 4ms latency most of the time. first, go to start/programs/accessories/system tools/system information/hardware resources/conflicts-sharing and tell me what, if anything is sharing an irq with the scope card.
are you using midi? some controllers output active sensing which can lead to lockups because the midi buffers overfill(too much data). put a midi monitor into the routing window and connect your midi source to it. open it and see if you see active sensing. if so, either use a midi filter(it's in the midi menu with the monitor) in between your card's midi source and the sequencer destination or better disable it in the controller(if you can). you can check to see if you have eliminated active sensing with the monitor.
one other thing, i like to use a mixer to monitor both the playback from cubase, as well as the input into the computer. i like to think of the Scope environment as the virtual room my gear is in. Cubase is a stand alone mutitrack recorder in that room. the asio source and destination modules are the JACKS for audio coming in and out of the sequencer. the seq midi source and dest are the midi jacks for that stand alone recorder. i use stereo out of cubase for tracking and then when a project is finished, i use seperate outputs for almost every track and mix in Scope which sounds much better(Scope is hardware). i can still use vsts if i want and Cubase automation, so it's the best of both worlds...also, by monitoring the Scope mixer, i experience ZERO latency overdubs....of course, whatever setup you like is the best one, and that's a real strong point for Scope, you can route freely...

Hi! Still having problems. I'm not using any external midi devices (anymore) Here's a printscreen of my IrQ settings. The pulsar Cards are on 18 + 19. I Use a DDX 3216 still for monitoring (adat) . Never thought about using a scope mixer for output. Just curious, how are your settings to record etc.? Thanks.

i had issues with cubase 4 when i updated my computer, ...the culprit was service pack 3, keep it , but i had to reinstall windows twice

Never saw this. But i found out its scope that causes the problem. When i try to change something in the routing window eg. loading a mixer, windows locks up, have to reboot. I'm really confused.

it's your motherboard. bad design...
is that an ali chipset? very poor quality...
the graphics card sharing may be fatal. Scope cards generally CAN NOT share irqs. if you have another slot available, you might try it. meanwhile, you must disable the two usb controllers that are sharing with the Scope cards(in the device manager).
if you go to start/programs/accessories/system tools/system information/hardware resources/conflicts-sharing you will find the names of the shared controllers(probably something like 1EA7D or similar). then you can go to the device manager and disable the appropriate controller.
disabling the usb controllers alone MAY fix the problem. if you can find the slot that shares with the graphics and swap the card to another slot AND disable the shared devices afterwards, everything SHOULD be stable.

The Motherboard is an Asus A8R-MVP with Radeon Xpress 200 CrossFire (RD480 + ULi M1575) chipset. The problem i found is the shared usb IRQ. But i need usb for my Virus TI.. I wil try to switch boards. And maybe my VGA into the other SLI slot.. Keep you guys posted. Thanks so far

yeah, gamer boards aren't the best for audio, but this one should work. you only need to disable the shared controllers, not all of them. your virus will still work.

Hmz.. try to install vga card in other SLI slot, system don't boot. (3 peeps) try to shuffle pci slots, USB is locked to PCI slots i guess. How can i reserve only the pulsar cards to one IRQ number. Have tried some settings in bios but still no succes..

YOU MUST DISABLE A COUPLE OF USB CONTROLLERS.
there is NO way to change the irq sharing as it's hardwired into the motherboard and ACPI doesn't allow it. the usb thing is not a big problem and it's quite common. the graphics card is problematic, but hopefully it won't stop the show. does that motherboard only have 2 pci slots? if so, the your only choice is to disable the usb controllers that share with those 2 slots and hope for the best. if you have 3 slots, you can move the two cards around and see if you get a better configuration.
another thing that might help is to go into the bios and disable any ports or onboard devices you don't use such as onboard sound and serial and parallel ports. this might free up enough irqs that some of the sharing disappears.
SLI motherboards are designed for maximum video performance, not maximum pci performance. plainer, more industrial motherboards work much better. intel motherboards and/or at least intel chipsets pretty much always work well. even still, i always have to disable a couple of usb controllers when i build systems with multiple cards. afterwards all, or at least most, usb ports still work in the same way that you can plug several devices into one usb hub into one port...
