I can hear a slightly improvement at the Rubinstein melody. But you should make your strings smoother. They still sound too hard. Set the attack time to a way higher amount and check the legato.
Use the midi control No. 7 for crescendo/decrescendo on a long note. That makes it more natural.
To Golden Pond: The piano sounds a little bit compressed, but somehow lively. Not bad.
Lower the strings around -5db. They are very massive.
If you want, I could send to you some music with strings, produced with different instruments.

Ken, I used GOS Library in GigaStudio V2.5 (not VSL) for the "Golden Pond", when I just got the Library about 3-4 years ago...

Anyway, may be it's good to have another mix then...
